  1. Just reset the donation widget on the homepage feel free to donate money
  2. +1 Curious about this also
  3. Yes the 2+2 is wider than the 2 seater. I'm not sure how this affects rear spoiler fitment. I think it doesn't but can't say with 100% confidence.
  4. I guess it slipped the sellers mind to mention car requires new roof . Seriously everytime i see a s30 convertible part of me dies inside. There are plenty of convertibles from the same era that wouldnt require choppjng up. That soft top is rather hideous also.
  5. Slightly less glamorous actually I am stuck in Botswana at the moment with very slow internet and I have to pay for it in MB (100MB is like 7 euro ). So I'll sort it all out when I get back to Dublin in a couple of days and update this thread. I schedule donations on a monthly basis so people can keep track of monthly donation progress but it means it expires at the end of each month and I have to keep resetting it.
  6. That exhaust is awesomeness, it will look great on your 240ZG replica. Can't wait to hear it in action.
  7. They both make Robert Downey junior look good?
  8. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/22031-chopped-240z-for-sale/ http://www.datsunclassifieds.com/showproduct.php/product/6088/title/chopped-240z/cat/1 Looks kind of wrong on this 240z hence definitely needs some kind of planning and measuring to make sure the aspect ratio is correct.
  9. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/645045/1973-datsun-240z Here it is looks amazing.
  10. Interesting I've also considered this having owned a 2+2 the roofline always erked me. I would think a lower roof profile and a reshape on the rear would look the bomb with reshaped 1/4 windows. The longer and wider wheel base of the 2+2 is meant to make it more stable so you could really have a kick ass hot rod. Retro fit 240z rear lights and most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I would definitely mock up in Photoshop like chartoo second pic or use other 3d modelling to see if the proportions would work I imagine they would. I'm pretty sure Mr Matsuo wanted a lower roof profile but in order to accommodate tall Westerners had to raise the roofline. You could use the Toyota 2000gt for inspiration on rooflines since that car has 1 of the sexiest rooflines ever. I'm sure I saw a guy who was working on a chop top 240z looked great will see if I can dig it up.
  11. Wowwow wee wahhhh I like it a very much. We need a new car on our homepage can we do a write up on it and use these awesome pics? I'm away at the moment but will start when I get back?
  12. Any particular reason you were told not to use r31 rear set up?
  13. Hey Hey we agree on something , I hate them also too flashy OEM units always look nice.
  14. Nice looking 2+2 in Blue http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-260z-2-2-1974-/120805317525?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item1c208edb95#ht_1168wt_1398

  16. No different to any other car really, I think you'd be hard pressed finding an original head unit in a 240z these days. The original radio would be worth a little bit of cash to the right buyer. A multimeter is essential but other than that it's pretty straight forward to install a head unit. It would only be a challenge if you are installing a big amp / subs etc.. still do-able but might require some wiring changes and perhaps an upgrade in terms of alternator (later ZX internally regulated unit puts out more amps).

Fantastic looking engine good work Pete. A few questions? - What kind of harmonic balancer is that? - At what RPM do you think this set up will make full boost? - What type of ECU will control it? - Finally what kind of gearbox will go behind it?
  18. Oh man I can't even find a set of those. I actually think they look good and like them. If anyone has a stock 240z driver side (RHD) mirror I'll take it. - Gotta be better than the plastic 200B mirrors the PO fitted to my Z I like Fender Mirrors myself I think they look cool and are a very period looking item. A lot of old sports cars place the mirrors on the fender - although not as far forward as the Z has them.
  19. Bruce perhaps you should consider starting a drive through service. It looks like you have had some interest already . Seriously though, what a bummer but at least you have insurance and they are paying it out. I can't imagine how red faced I'd be if I managed that. She must have been higher than George Michael behind the wheel to do that.
  20. Interior (absolutely love that red interior mate) and engine bay look very original. How about the engine is it the original engine with matching numbers to what's on the chassis plate? You mentioned a respray about 20 years ago, was it the original colour that it was resprayed with? Will need some exterior pictures, but if she's as original on the outside as she looks everywhere else then mate I would honestly set a price of at least $20k personally and see what interest you get. Provided she's rust free and structurally sound. (will need more pics though).
  21. I like it and I can't believe you got that out of a spray can too! The 240K rear lights are 'period' items and I think suit the car well. Much better than some of the later junk I've seen tacked onto a Z. I think it would look better with the extra set (2 on each side) though. Do share some details on how you went about painting it. I'm going to touch up some mirrors on my FD RX-7 (seems to be a common weak spot where the paint flakes) and I was going to use a rattle gun to do it, so very interested .
  22. Alan I've seen the term 'Zenki' and 'Kouki' (sometimes 'Chuuki') used a lot when referring to Japanese cars and I assume this means Early / Later models is that correct?
  23. I think it helps keep the front air damn from flexing at speed?
  24. Good thing you are ok matey.
  25. Thanks will do that. I can't commit to anything like that right now, not sure when I'll be back in Oz yet. Horrid but funny . I like a dirty rotor. Look at this bozo driving a PP on the street.
