  1. Hey dude, Loving the Red Rocker cover, was it painted or Powder Coated? RE: Water Pipe looks good, albeit a major hassle it sounds like? Mine appears to just be a long hose. I think the approach of focusing on the engine bay first, then interior, brakes, suspension and so forth is a good way to tackle restoration. In terms of engine bay colour, I'm not usually a huge fan of different engine bay colours to exterior colour. However that shade of grey would look good with the orange exterior (depends on the shade of orange). I also actually like what this guy did on Jay Leno's garage. (GM Spatter Paint) Your engine bay is going to look great, but you're gonna hate me, cause I think it would look even better with the spark plug wires re-routed lol.. I also dig the clear PVC hose for crank case ventilation. (seen at top of pic there).
  2. Feels good to save a car from the scrap head doesn't it? Just wish I had half your skill when it comes to panel work mate.
  3. Tend to agree . Although I do like the Karmann Ghia - very cool car. Expensive car in Oz , can get them cheap in the US rust free. So that kinda makes up for the BMW being included. Oh and the 928's are pretty cool also. Not sure if I'd prefer a 944 turbo or a 928. The v8 is pretty cool though. I think the 928's will go up in value over the coming years.
  4. Has red interior which is great but someone put a sunroof in it which is a shame. Don't think it is worth asking price given it will need restoration but if its rust free might be worth considering.
  5. George 73 models had those square indicators. So doubt its a UK import mate.
  6. Hey mate, So I was all amped up to come and look at this car, but it turns out my garage won't fit both the RX-7 and a 240z - and I wouldn't want to leave either car outside - as the 240z would deteriorate in the weather and the RX-7 has a brand new paint job - which I want to keep looking brand new. So right now I'm not in a position to have another Z, which is a shame because I think this car really has lots of potential for a DIY type, but I guess I have to be realistic also 2 impractical cars is enough for 1 man.. Some day I'll be rich like Jay Leno with plenty of time, some day . All the best with the sale.
  7. Yeah I saw that mate, I had a laugh only because I realised he's young and I did some stupid stuff at that age in my cars too. The boys in blue just pulled into the hotel/pub when that happened so not sure if they saw it happen? But he was lucky, he's done a great job on that car for a young bloke, but it was a bit of an immature stunt. Doesn't reflect well on everyone else.
  8. Well Zer Is No Plweasing you . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjLmY0SxoWM In all honesty I don't know anyone in Australia making wide ZG flares. I would try Yahoo! Auctions - seen a few on there, problem is quality - you never know how good it is?
  9. Let me check flight costs tonight and see what I can do . My family would be happy to collect me from the airport.
  10. Not a Z, but still cool.
  11. Hey guys, I was really hoping to be there this year, but I'm not sure I can get that much time off work. I plan to visit family closer to Christmas day, so I would need to take 2 flights in December (1 for BBQ) and 1 for family Christmas day etc.. Unless a group of Sydney fellas want to do a road trip down that way for the weekend?
  12. Problem with Wildwood is dust boots or so I've heard. So not sure they would Eng approval on a road car. What other brake upgrades are available?
  13. I love your posts mate, because I'm always learning something new. Keep it up.
  14. Hi mate, If you have anyone else interested in P90 please don't hold for me. Long story short, I may have 1 but I'm trying to contact an engine head shop to determine if they still have it. I left it there 6 years ago (oops) and not sure if they sold it, stored it or lost it (I wouldn't blame them either way) but trying to see if by chance it's still with them.
  15. How far is Sydney to Canberra, Mr Google says 3 hours drive, but I'm a skeptic. Only ever driven from Melbourne to Sydney (not from Sydney toward the South). I may have a car this weekend (may) so a drive to Canberra might be fun!
  16. Mainly because I like the way 16" looks on that S30z posted in the video above. This was another reason, if I wanted to run 300zx front spot calipers or wilwoods I don't think they will fit under a 15" wheel. What colour are the Atara racing ones you have? Flat black, polished? In terms of quality difference between the genuine Wat's and Atara wheels, what's your opinion?

  18. How is the body on this 1 rust wise mate? Is there any structural rust to take note of or is it mostly just cosmetic and external panels?
  19. Yep apparently he is on here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=542 Was last on yesterday .
  20. The name looks familiar but can't recall if they are a member here or not, think it might of been on Classiczcars.com that I saw that username. I really hope he doesn't flare it. It looks so tidy, it would be a shame to cut those guards
  21. I knew you guys were just messing about. But I've been thinking about a lot of ways to improve the site lately and I realised we don't have enough how to guides for zcar newbies. Anyway getting off topic. I'll start another thread with some ideas to hopefully inject new life into the forum and get some interesting discussions flowing.
  22. Welcome George if you figure out a way to upload photos send us some pictures of your first hot rod zed. Great to see Sydney people coming out of the wood work lately.
  23. You party? Not many zeds still sport that factory colour. I remember seeing an uber clean 2+2 in that shade some years ago.
  24. Actually speaking of which I would like to add more useful how-to tutorials to the site, but I haven't been working on my Z for almost 6 years now. . So when I do get to it I'll try and post more informative posts that cover some of the most common questions we get etc..
  25. That would be great, I'd love to meet him at some stage also.
