  1. First page updated with new cars and photos.
  2. MOAR better photos added.
  3. There was a time you couldn't give them away for $50, but I agree $300 for a set is about current price these days - maybe more?
  4. Gonna be tough finding a faceplate for that! But ask 240zrubberparts.com - if you can find someone with a template to make 1 from they might be able to help.
  5. It's great that Jay Ataka is reproducing stuff like this, I believe with the help of Revive Jalopy in Japan also. A lot of it via the same companies/component manufacturers that made them originally.
  6. In the grand scheme of things that's probably the last thing to worry about. Easily changed..
  7. Nice 73 model (wearing earlier hubcaps though!) http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/5398357594.html Price: $16000
  8. Motorsport Auto in the US of A sells those horrid things with the rubber trims only. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic02l/50-1041 The chrome set cost a fortune...
  9. I've seen this car on the road and it does look great. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/glebe/cars-vans-utes/1974-datsun-260z-coupe/1097702065 However I've not seen it up close to really get a good sense of how the body work is on it. Just seen it when riding my bike home across Anzac bridge going in the opposite direction.
  10. Agreed it's a bargain if the body presents in person as well it as does in photos. Those door trims have gotta be super rare, you can still find them in black but in that brown (or white) it's almost impossible. You have to re-dye a set. The brown interior is very rare. Although it is probably also what puts people off haha.
  11. It would almost be a shame to remove it from it's long slumber in that grass.
  12. All over the middle east, you forget that cigarettes are still a thing in parts of the world. I remember being in Jordan and buying a bus ticket at a local depot, the guy behind the counter was smoking in the office. I only realised at that point that it wasn't that long ago in places like Australia people could smoke in the office or what's funny is when you board an old aircraft that still has the ashtray in the seat rests.
  13. Sadly Lynton's car is the exception not rule when it comes to 2+2's on the market. But if you're patient enough you can find a car like it.
  14. How cool are these old girls?
  15. Hi Everyone, As per the title, this looks like a 260z OEM 5 speed knob (excuse the other stuff in the photo). Which are quite difficult to get. It's not perfect and I can take more photos if required? But so far each 1 of these I've sold has been a little different from each other. Each time I sell 1 I kind of regret not keeping it, but I need to free up some capital and all my S30z's are 240z's not 260z's so not sure if I'll ever use it really. Priced at $150.
  16. Hey Mick, I don't know the offset, I could try to measure it but have a lack of good straight edges so it would be a rough estimate. I am back in Sydney now yes, looks like I'll be taking Friday off work. Not sure where i'll be Saturday yet (sister is visiting this weekend from overseas) but feel free to PM me and we can figure it out.
  17. Crank has been inspected and is generally in good shape, no cracks etc.. It has a slight bend in it, if I recall (3.5 thou) which is normal for a crank of this age and can be corrected relatively easily. I think the journals will need polishing etc.. but it will totally depend on what the new owner wants to do with it. Still waiting on cost of repair for the slight bend in it, so haven't decided if I will do it or sell as is. In light of the report I'm open to sensible offers on it.
  18. Apart from the missing license plates, what makes you think it wouldn't be street legal?
  19. Oh... a permabull on 240z values . I'm with you though...
  20. Using e-go.com.au for stuff like that is good I find and quick!
  21. Ain't that the truth...
  22. The external shots looked ok, car looked clean. However it looks like the area where the rust bubble on the passenger side door (lower sill) was painted not that long ago. The fact it's bubbling again indicates that perhaps there is rust in the area that wasn't fully dealt with. As a car you can hop in and enjoy and slowly improve for $15k it might not be a bad car, but you could be dealing with covered over rust also. I think heading home to think about it and write up a list and get some repair opinions and rough quotes is a good idea. It can be easy to get caught up in the excitement of a new car and see through the flaws that may bite you later. It can't hurt to look at other cars also to get a feel for the condition / value of each.
  23. Show us a photo! I quite like the style myself.
  24. I recall posting this car in this thread a while back, just found the video again. The screaming rotary is awesome! Also the period correct colour left an impression on me, hence it was why I got so excited when a Safari Gold 240z appeared on eBay a few years ago, had to have it.
  25. Just a nitpick.
