  1. Which 1 sold? Or did both sell?
  2. The orange 2+2 is already registered in NSW and has been driving regularly (I've seen it on my bike going across Anzac bridge). The value in these cars lies with the body work. It was repainted not that long ago, ask to see documented evidence of rust repairs and how it looked before, during and after it was stripped back for paint. The first link appears to have no hit reserve yet, not sure what owner wants to get, but it looks 'honest'. However you won't know what 10K will get until you know what the condition of the body is in. I'd say either car is better than 80% of 2+2s that hit the market.
  3. Yeah put it on eBay / Gumtree someone will need it.
  4. I've been so busy collecting the info I haven't had much time to dedicate toward the database, but I agree it's getting a bit unmanageable as is. I wanted to look at it over Christmas but that didn't happen due to family commitments, will have to get creative with it (finding time that is).
  5. Ahh that's a shame, would make restoration more worthwhile, although matching numbers is perhaps not that important if you consider that some markets didn't have the engine number stamped on the ID plate. Here is a rare French Delivered HLS30. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.208068942866955&type=1 Facebook changes image URLs around and breaks them later so I copied it here (even though I'd rather just link to it). Never did get a reply as to what the X values represent around the chassis number. NB: The engine is just stated as L24 - no numbers...
  6. Some 15x7 "Datsun" wheels in 114.3 PCD. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331772957779 I like them, but a bit too "80s" for me. Still polished would look good on an S30z I think.
  7. Mark does the 907 Green car have matching number L24 in it? It looks pretty original with the Topy steel wheel etc..
  8. What year is your 240z? Only the very early ones had an E31 - which are hard to find now. E88s are much more common and significantly cheaper to source. You will want to switch to an internally oiled camshaft and remove the spray bar set up, unless you want to go absolutely 100% original? I am pretty pedantic about originality but I have my limits lol.. Lash pads, rocker arms can be resurfaced in most instances. So it's not critical. My E31 head cost a packet to rebuild. More than most people would expect but I'm not skipping any corners here...It had some corrosion that needed repair and that is where additional expense came in, I also opted to regrind my cam to a mild 733a from Clive Cams. Which is about as big as you can go with twin SU's before they reach their limit... Cheapest route is find a good N42 cylinder head and work from there (if originality is not an issue).
  9. Late 71 240z added. HS30 01310. I think the seller was zed24t who also sold this car. HS30 00862 also added. Project here.
  10. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14523-73-240z/ If you want a project, that's a project and they don't get much cheaper than that!
  11. HS30 00918 added.
  12. By the way I may have a windscreen scuttle panel I can donate your way... Will have to double-check but if you're missing 1 I'd be happy to give you 1 (just need to double-check I won't need it myself first). By the way perhaps we can split the thread? But I'd love to hear about how you found these 2 at some point.
  13. It's a shame HS30 00918 wasn't painted Kalahari Tan, that would have been a cool coincidence if they did that! . Ah yes I forgot you're stay at home dad now, at least if the little ones can be put to sleep you can put time into it. It seems in life if you have time you have no money and when you have money you have no time. Thanks for the details on it. Look forward to seeing the project progress. Even if it is ever so slowly...
  14. HS30 00145 has been added (photos that is) we already had the chassis ID. I recall the person who owned it on Classiczcars.com a few years ago. Looks like a really nice example too! Thanks to Sydney Mike who kept records of it and the eBay description.
  15. Mark it's a 71 240z, was it 907 Green originally? It looks like it. The fender mirrors were used up until late 71. If you look at the early girl bingo thread you'll see a Blue 240z (HS30 01428) with fender mirrors remounted on the doors. So I expect it was toward the end of the 71 model life that the fender mirrors were used in Australia. The early console is due to the 71A transmission and the rear vents in the hatch were removed after HS30 00500. In terms of buyers remorse, that will wear off after you get a couple more paychecks. Then you'll remember it's not a sprint, it's a marathon and there is no rush to do it. You have the space and you've done it once before. Shame about the accident damage. However early 240z's like this are quite rare now, if you read the Early Girl Bingo thread it's my estimate that maybe 300-350 (maybe 400 at a pinch) of all 240z's delivered to Australia still exist. If you can share the exact chassis numbers of both I'll add the early one to the Early Girl Bingo thread and if we at least have a record of the 73 we can keep track of it's situation in future. PS: I recall seeing your car and you telling me "never again" in terms of restoring an S30z. LOL.... I've said similar things to myself. It's easy to forget how much work it is, but it is rewarding and satisfying.
  16. You don't say... Welcome you must be new around here.
  17. I could be interested in the bits of shell, so look forward to seeing what comes up.
  18. Oh I am watching your thread, I just don't have any input into it. Since it's a lot of re-engineering that's not my area of expertise so I'm just quietly watching and seeing what's going on. . It's not that I don't find it interesting.
  19. Ahh thanks for dobbing him in. Yes enquiring minds would like to know more about an early girl 240z...
  20. Chassis number will reveal all.. Remember back in the day many owners upgraded to 260z rear lights. 240z was old hat back then... What is the chassis no on this? Hope the other s30z looked better than this 1?
  21. Update #310 still exists and #415 can be accounted for until recently...
  22. Thanks to Sydney Mike, I now have info on 233 and 236. Here is the eBay description for 233 (Comic Sans for the win!) and 236
  23. Just updated the first page, but a minor observation. I had to increase the number of images allowed per post from 100 > 150. So that means we have roughly 100 cars accounted for of the first 1000 roughly.... Give or take a few that we have details of but no photos and some we know about but no longer exist etc.. So not an exact count. However that indicates that there is roughly 10% of the original 70/71 cars left. I know it's a small sample size, but if we assume that there was 3000-3500 240z's imported here in the 70s (provided that figure is accurate) and if we apply the same survival rate to the lot.. That would mean approx. 300-350 are left.
  24. I predict a rush on 1965 Nissan Cedric's.
