  1. Nice workspace you have there.
  2. Finally found a third carb to make a set of Triples... They will need to be water jet blasted and rebuilt to spec.
  3. HLS30 00184 previously sold on Craigslist. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14448-the-global-z-car-s30s130-market-thread/?p=176560 It was listed at $5k USD. (April 2016). Jut gives you an idea of the way prices have moved...although I think the previous for sale price was too low personally..
  4. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Datsun-Z-Series-/272731458118 HLS30-00184 Pulled from eBay already, apparently sold for $19k USD as is.
  5. To help make working on your Mikuni/Solex carbs easier I'm uploading manuals here. First manual is Type Q (44mm) Solex/Mikuni also known as Type 2. These were fitted to the U20 motors (as OEM) parts for the Fairlady Roadsters. Mikuni-44-Type2(Q-Type)-Manual.pdf Full copy of the manual for U20 motors can be found here (this shorter manual for the fuel systems starts on page 80 and goes to page 94 of the PDF not the actual workshop manual). http://www.311s.org/PDFs/U20Eng_TrnService%20Manual40.pdf
  6. So just thought I'd share some tips on how to identify a 40mm carb vs 44mm carb. 1. 40mm carbs often have an extra retaining fastener on the bottom (front of the intake portion). Where as 44's are usually blank. 2. Just by looking at the throttle plates you can often tell what size they are. 3. Ideally the seller shows a photo of the throttle plate stamping, which will read 1.75inch (44mm) or 1.65inch (40mm). I tried to find a reference photos for 50's but couldn't see 1. Of course carbs have been messed around with over the years, taper bore etc.. so use this post as a guide but not the gospel. This is just what I've picked up hunting down carbs on various classified sites over the last year or so..
  7. Hey George did you paint the heater box and pedal box using spray paint? I feel like KBS rust seal is a good product and you may be able to sponge it on? It dries very hard too, so it's scratch resistant, to be honest though I'd probably take it to a powder coaters and have it done that way myself.
  8. Just an update got my invoice today for the 69 date stamped Topy's which are due to clear customs in the next week or so. Total shipping cost from the Warehouse in the US was $134.00 (provided no additional quarantine fees come in). Which is very good. I think the shipping costs within the US were the same if not higher!
  9. Hi Folks, When I bough a 44mm Mikuni carb, the seller sent me a Dellorto 45 DHLA (could be 40mm also) I'm guessing he thought I wanted both, but in reality I only needed the Mikuni. I am trying to optimise room in my luggage and contemplating what to do with it, is there any interest in it? I don't have any photos of it as it's packed but I may try and re-pack later. Looking at it, it seems they are not too bad actually compared with the Mikuni's etc.. but I've never driven a car with them installed so have no frame of comparison other than they look like a cheaper way to go Triples (no Mikuni/Solex tax). I'm not really sure what it's worth? Maybe $200-$300? Just figured I'd check if anyone needs 1 as I'll try and bring it back with me if that's the case.
  10. I saw someone on Facebook asking for suggestions on price. Not sure if they are a member here.
  11. That's the ones, they have a few different names depending on the literature I've seen hence why I created the Mikuni ID thread.
  12. I just found a third Type 5 (44) - so I've got a set of 3 now. 1x a Type 4 (4 screws on cover) - only have 2 1x the Nismo Solex/Mikuni (44) with the dual float adjuster top covers - only have 2 I also wouldn't mind finding a set of Triple Type Q's in 44mm (that looks like 50's) and there was a set in Tasmania recently, but I didn't have funds available. Most shy away from the type Q carbs (certain guru's warned me away), but I like the period correct look and would install them on HS30 00150 or HS30 00051 in future.
  13. I have a pair of Type R Mikuni's in 40mm that I was looking to sell for around $800. I was looking for a third carb body but haven't managed to get 1 yet. I'll keep an eye out for you though on a 40mm S5 body. I seem to find plenty of 40s, but 44s are much harder to locate.
  14. Is it this car? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/16213-for-sale-1976-260z-22-hastings-vic/ It looks clean and solid.
  15. Have you measured impedance of your fuel injectors? I would definitely check fuel pressure regulator, but the tune may have been adjusted to compensate for not enough fuel before. The new pump may now be delivering too much fuel.
  16. Like giving pigs strawberries I believe is the saying . Pretty sure I know which Z432-R that is too..
  17. HLS30 00023 built Oct 1969 has 3 holes in the rear stowage box area where the tools go. I've never noticed this subtle difference before. I checked against George's car HS30 00019 and my car HS30 00051 and I believe both only have 2. I'm away for work so can't check HS30 00150 but I believe it's solid?
  18. 2 sets of original Kobe Seiko Magnesium alloy wheels in the wider 'works' style... Oh my indeed...
  19. I had mine rechromed. I like them but also like the naked look too..
  20. This lovely looking Works Tribute is another I'll have to try and determine it's chassis no. for. Small thumbnail images won't load. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/19289/lot/237/?category=list
  21. Just some more notes about the parts from HS30 00026 and where they went. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/12170/lot/619/?category=list https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/12170/lot/622/ Chassis number is supposedly now: HS30 01914 Registration no. LAL 909K and Engine no. L24 071782
  22. On the topic of Bonham's they have auctioned quite a few HS30's over the years. All of which I'll need to document. HS30 100992 1.http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/19286/lot/428/?category=list HS30 12609 2. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/16245/lot/320/ HS30 12065 3. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/15338/lot/320/ HS30 01903 4.https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/18220/lot/570/?category=list HS30 013736 5.https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/15345/lot/745/?category=list ‘WRA 94K’, - no chassis no. given. 6. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/12170/lot/623/?category=list HS30 102609 7. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/15338/lot/347/ HS30 10755 8. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/16248/lot/589/ HS30 01210 9. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/15348/lot/664/ Sometimes this job makes me feel like I'm a cold case worker.
  23. Yeah great car, I'd seen it before as the Kobe Seiko wheels caught my eye but couldn't find information on it's chassis no. It's technically not HS30 00026 anymore, but a Fairlady Z (S30) wearing many of it's parts.
  24. Last 1 I saw for sale came from Warren in Sydney and was on eBay. It sold in excess of $400... can find exact listing and price if you want.
