thats just brilliant, those rims must be made out of titanium, i once supermaned a road bike over a decent size jump i landed sweet as but my rims where far from happy, fun ride home though with a wobly rim

I had a giant TCR that was very robust, but nowhere near the cost of these 10k rings a bell? Great to see what the experts can do, his balance is crazy.

Bit disallusioned with road racing now, way to many cheats busted. Pantani, Hamilton, Landis, Contador, Rasmussen, Ullrich, and many many more. It's a joke and more of a competition to see who can dope the most and not get caught!

I thought lance was clean, lol. Goes to show 'where there's smoke there's fire'  ;)

Would be interested to see how many rims he went through.

As a bit of a side note, one of my good friends gets paid to go around the world and ride bikes down big rocky hills. At one point last season he said him and a team-mate were going through a rear rim every 1 to 2 runs down the hill. The team had a guy employed there who pretty much did nothing but lace up new rims for them. The rear wheels retail for around $600 a piece he said...

Hey Guys, this might be out of left field and don't want to hijack this thread. But if you are looking at this you could be into bikes. Have you noticed all the new bike tracks from Murrundindi to Yea through to Seymour . And from Yea to Bonni Doon.  Could there be a VicZed bike ride in the waiting this summer?  I'm up for it. Cheers.

Now that is mega talent.  I would love to know the type and brand of tyre he was using.  I wonder if they are fast.  My Spinergy's wouldn't last a second with this bloke!  Amazing skills.

Hey Gordo sounds like you may be able to help me out........

My knees are stuffed and I cant run anymore so Im looking at cycling as an alternative. Used to do a bit of training with a mate who was a pro road rider years ago but Im not keen on road riding due to the dickheads that we have to share the road with so somehing like what you describe is appealing. Are there any clubs or unoficial groups that do regular rides?

Cheers.

Hi guys,

That guy on the video is mental!! lol, there's another good one of some bloke doing a similar thing on a retro 70's type bike... the first jump he does snaps the frame, so they just weld it up and keep shooting.  ;D

Not sure which type of riding you're into, Parks Vic has a few videos online of their different tracks around the state. I'm organizing a few mates to go and try and kill ourselves on the You Yangs tracks.  8)

DSE is currently working on the Wombat SF trails to get the finishing touches to make them environmentally sound, I think most of the signage is now complete as is some of the work on the trailhead / carpark. The Forrest trails are a work of art, I have quite a few photos on my work PC of the work the boys are undertaking to get them back in ship-shape after all the rains and them being pounded over winter.

Dave, if you're looking for groups, try a bike club near you, I know the Ballarat bike club has social rides and training / semi-competitive rides, plus they have weekends away to ride Buller etc. So I assume other clubs would be the same, you may just have to buy a social membership though.

Cheers.

I live at the foot of the Dandenongs, there are plenty of tracks but there not really MTB tacks but a good start anyway.

I am heading up to Bonnie Doon this weekend to check out some of these tracks.

Bought a Pinarello FP3 a little while ago which has taken my time away from my Z.  Brilliant bike

I would be keen for a ride down the track if there is interest

Hi Bruce, will be interesting to see what you think of the tracks. Sorry I've got most of my weekends booked ATM . But I would be keen to make a date with the VicZed guys if there is enough interest. Have fun.
