zedevan Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Hey guys, I've been fairly quiet around here lately, slowly working on my zed to get it back on the road, and am going to start an updated journal once there's some progress about to happen, but naturally things keep coming up (i think it's coming up to 5 years since it was last driven...which is sad) One of the things that's causing delays is I've recently gotten engaged, and set a wedding date of the 24th of November! Which means realistically my zed won't be ready, but we'd love to have three 4-door datsuns as wedding cars, so was wondering if anyone on here had anything they'd be happy to lend/drive on the day. 1600's/240c's etc etc, or really any 60/70's family cars as she grew up with a valiant so is fond of them. Unfortunatley there seems to be a hole in the wedding market of cars from this era. Failing that we've fortunately been offered a couple of more typical wedding cars, but they don't particuarly mean anything to us, and it would be awesome to have that datsun link! Quote
reverendzed Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Congratulations Evan, I know you will be blessed. Sorry don't have any cars! (rare for me!) Rev. Quote
lightmaster240z Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Well done young Evan. Iam very happy to read this little bit of news :) Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted August 6, 2012 Administrators Posted August 6, 2012 Evan congratulations, it's good to see you're getting the car on the road again. How much work is to be done? I reakon if you pull the finger out you can get it ready . Perhaps enlist some help from members here to get things done? Don't try and get it perfect, just presentable and neat. Just imagine hanging the tins out the back and driving into the sunset with your wife to be! Quote
nizm0zed Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Don't try and get it perfect, just presentable and neat. Just imagine hanging the tins out the back and driving into the sunset with your wife to be! QTF! Im doing the same with mine, my wedding is November 11th. As long as the car looks good from the outside, i'll be happy. Quote
sco_aus Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Do what we did, all 2 seaters, 5 of them for the guys. The missus went in old Jag's, looked the goods too. Quote
zedevan Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Thanks for the kind words guys, I know it could be possible to get my car on the road by then, but don't really want to have to rush it - having the car there on the day isn't overly important to me, she's never been in my zed so it doesn't have any special meaning to the two of us, and I dont want her to start to dislike it based on me paying heaps of attention to it instead of actual wedding stuff. My childhood neighbour's just bought himself a stingray which I know I could use, so the thought of using a few 2 seaters has crossed my mind, but all in all I think i'd prefer to have us guys all in the 1 car since we'd fit We ended up using my s15 at my brothers wedding as the groomsmens car (as the car he intended to use broke down on the way there!) and that was alright, but squishy, so I'm not too concerned, but would love some 70's 4 door datsuns! reverendzed Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 OK, so now that I have obtained another Zed, it's all yours on the day if you need it...let me know! it's very tidy and ready to go. Rev Quote
C.A.R. Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Apparently someone got married recently - not a Shaver or Zed in sight though! Quote
