Tj Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I saw briefly mentioned in an old wanted post that the rear end of a 2+2 is wider that a coupe. Is this true? Especially concerning fitting a rear spoiler? I just don't want to find out the hard way when I get around to fitting one. Thanks guys. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 14, 2011 Administrators Posted December 14, 2011 Yes the 2+2 is wider than the 2 seater. I'm not sure how this affects rear spoiler fitment. I think it doesn't but can't say with 100% confidence. Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Angle of the hatch is slightly different too Quote
Tj Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 Alright, had a look at some photos; My 2+2 And for reference stiv's 260 coupe The angle is a little different but it's close enough. It looks as though the width of the taillight surrounds and even the hatch are more or less the same width but the rear quarters themselves seemed more pumped out. Which leads the question, are the rear axle widths different? if not, one would assume there's more room in the back for more wheel I think the best way to be sure would be to park two next to each other and run around them with a tape measure. Either that or just borrow a rear spoiler and sit it on there and have a look. Quote
saxon Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Bre spoiler doesnt even fit a coupe properly anyway Quote
MaygZ Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 The width of the bottom of the hatch of a coupe is 1050mm. Hope this helps MaygZ Quote
silverz Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Hi, an interesting topic. Does anyone know if 2 seater and 2+2 rear bumpers are the same size? Is a 2+2 bumper slightly longer? Thanks regards Peter Quote
gilltech Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 The 2+2 rear bumper centre section is longer to fit the bulkier rear quarters. Quote
Topstage Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Its also wider, bre spoiler and topstage spoiler will not fit nicely. Even if you made it fit it looks real dodgey. I saw someone attampted bre on 4 seater....no no. And someone tried our spoiler not even close as the curve and profiles are too different. Quote
Tj Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 :-\ I've always had a suspicion that the angle of the tailgate was different and might make a rear spoiler not work. I wonder what type this guy used: That's one hell of a sexy bus!
