Hi All,

Just a quick message to say hi and introduce myself... My name's John and I'm looking at starting a new 240Z project.

Many years ago I was looking around for a 240Z and you could pic up something straight with a bit of rust for sub $2,000. How things have changed!

Seems I am joining a long list of hopefuls to snatch up a decent 240Z to start a project on. Before anyone says it, I know it will be a long wait! My daily driver is a 2000 WRX, so I'm happy to wait for the right 240Z to come along.

The plan is to restore one rather than modify excessively, but I would love to get the body looking something like Mark Rolston's 240Z... love those integrated flared guards! I don't suppose anyone has tried to obtain these from Al’s Bodyworks in Austin, Texas?

Anyway, that's me. I look forward to talking to you guys via the forum.

Cheers,

- J.B.

Thanks for the warm welcome, George's socks = noted and avoided!

Shame that those flared guards are so $$... Is there any good alternatives in Oz?

Don't suppose I can twist any of your arms to let go of a spare project/doner/spare parts 240? Worth asking the question!

Look up member "Nixcars" I believe he made similar (but better looking in my opinion) flares for a baby blueish 240z that was featured in Street Magazine a few years back (had an RB30T in it too).

If you can't find him I'll take a look later on.

Hi all,

Quick update on the Z hunt and I'm glad to report that I've bought a 260Z (2 seater) from Melbourne. I drove it from Melbourne to Adelaide last weekend with absolutely NO problems!

See pics below of the new pride and joy....recently dubbed "The Mistress"

Whats with people putting crazy stickers on Zeds?  Steve had a flamingo on his when he got it, this one looks like it may have a pegasus?

PO watched too many Fast and Furious movies I guess.

Arrgh, sunroof.  Could always replace the roof skin with a carbon fiber one like Ben did.

Haha I WISH mine was a sticker man , they glued on a little plastic outline of a bird  :'(

Not to mention that those stripes on my car are PAINTED on...  >:(

Yeah, rust makes for a fun time... although it appears to be alot of surface rust but not too much structural rust. The sunroof is a pain and I'll attempt to get a roofskin and replace in the future.

The car cost me $3,750. The lady selling the car didn't really know what she had and set a 'buy it now' price of $3,750. I think she got a few phone calls after the sale asking to selling for a higher amount, but she was good enough to honour the agreed price.

Pegasus sticker makes the car go faster (Vin Diesal told me so)
