Here is my 260 2 seater. Just finished cutting the rear quarters and putting some coil overs in. Pretty happy with the stance now. Next steps are bitter brakes up front, disc's in the rear, adjustable control arms and radius rods, an LSD, an engine that pulls somewhat harder and some motorsport style seats.

Sure. Too much! Anything over 10k was too much. Bought site unseen and to be honest, I was dissapointed. Getting on with sorting it out now, no point crying over spillt milk.

Seems to be a trend...

It's looking good though. When are you getting rid of the God-awful sunroof? ;D

You forget after a while how much you over paid for it when you have it the way you want it to look and perform. Been down that road before. Looks good now which is a bonus so your performance mods will suit it's looks!

when you say that you had finished cutting the rear quarters , is this a procedure for fitting the flares , to accommodate the larger wheels? i had the idea they fitted over the top , is this a big job to fit these flares, do you have to cut the front also? cheers Dazzed

G'day Dazzed. If you want to run wide wheels to fill the flared guards and lower the car you will need to cut the rear quarter guards. The fronts may need to be cut also. I still need to ascertain if I need the fronts cut with the 225 tyre size I have on the front, I may get away with rolling the lip. There is a good guide of at hybridZ.org if you do a search it is a sticky by a guy from the states named Austin Hoke. That is what I used for inspiration. Hope this helps.

ill have a look, just looking at your wheels again , yeah geez theyre huge , i can see how you will have to make it all fully adjustable , be like a train on rails once you have done all that , looks tuff , thanks Dazzed.

Very neat. Just wondering where you got the front spoiler from? or was it already on the car?

Sorry, I'm not sure. It was already on the car.

God-awful is right. But alas it will be staying for a while yet. This is my only Z driver currently, with 3 other project 240's requiring more urgent attention.

That looks awesome, nice work!

Are the front wheels 8.5 inch?  If they are then I reckon you might get away without cutting the guards with the 225's depending on how much camber you run.

9.0 inch on the front. I think I may get away with just rolling the lips. I drove it to work yesterday and did get some rubbing on the front left. Might have to lift it up a little too. I am getting a slight rub on the rears when cornering. Thinking about 10mm all round.

Ah, ok.  The offset on the 9's isn't quite as nice as the 8.5's for the front which makes things a bit harder.  I wanted to put 9's on the front of mine too but it wasn't going to work without doing some serious hacking!  Managed to get 245's on the 8.5's with heaps of clearance.  What are the rears rubbing on?  The flare or the guard inside?

Posted

The rears are rubbing on the guard inside. Only just I think. A little more ride height I hope will sort that out. At worst I will cut the front guards as well.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I may be moving it along shortly. If anyone knows anyone who might be interested in purchasing this car let me know.

I did an event called "Climb the Eagle" here in Adelaide a couple of weeks ago. The event originated from when the Grand Prix was here and is basically a cruise for cars of "sporting heritage". About 260 cars, everything from Lamborghini's, Ferrari's to Datsun's. I had plenty of interest shown in the car from over car enthusiast's and the general public. The missus just can't understand what all the fuss is about, funny as!!!

I can't afford that beautiful beast, but I might be able to afford one of the projects in your stable  ;D  Any 240's ?

It's good to see you listed these in ASCENDING order of importance!  ;)

Exactly. Datsuns are way more important than Lambo's and Ferrari's. Anyone got a rusty project Lamborghini for $3K?
