good luck finding one for that now :( yes from time to time but usually they are F'd and the crank snout has damage at that price - more like $500 for a complete engine these days and $250+ for a good crank.

Up to about $500 Gav Zed.

What are they worth?

Hard pressed finding 1 in Australia for that price. I paid about $800+ landed. Your best bet is to check www.trademe.co.nz and see if someone will swap out the crank of an LD28 diesel the NZ fellas put that engine in everything especially Holden's lol.

Problem is I often see lots of auctions for LD28's with the crank already gone. Go figure.

There's been a few on Ebay over the last 12 months that both went for over $800-$1000..

If your building a stroker your looking at a shit load of money..

hmm yeah just scoping the scene. I can get one else where for about $800....that seems the going price....thtas retail so I thought a private sale would be a fair bit less.

All good though thanks for the input.

I waited years before I got mine. They were usually going for minimum of $250-$300 US when I first started looking, now they seem to average about $500 US (not including postage obviously). I had purchased a few before but the sales had fallen through and I never got my crank. Recently I was lucky enough to snag one from NZ with the help of some very friendly forum members.

I was recently quoted about $600 to get it sent over from New Zealand. I was considering flying over for the weekend and bringing it back as it would have only cost me $300-$400 in flights and would have got a mini holiday out of it but like I said, some very friendly people helped out and I got it over here quite cheap. I got an abosulte bargain in the end but it was about 3-4 years of searching and waiting.

Good luck with the search :)

LOL yeah I still have them alright. Lucky to find 12, was thinking if I put them on eBay US the Yanks might go nuts over them, then again they might not even know what they are.

How would you wife feel if LD28 cranks started to show up at your doorstep :). I was thinking of starting an LD28 import business lmao.

Hi Tim, I am getting one checked at the machine shop at the moment. It has a bit of surface rust on it, and needs to be ground slightly. PM me if you are still in the market.
