reverendzed Posted April 5, 2009 Author Posted April 5, 2009 I guess in theme it will 'look' like his however will more than likely perform more like what it really is a 'freshened' L26 with a manual conversion! Quote
xa1973 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Nice panel work Rev Youve done an excellent job on the rear end, did you plate the panel indents or fill? Quote
reverendzed Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 Well today was the day and color went on! with a nice day and the spray booth ready (home made) I shot 3 coats of color and 3 coats of clear. Still have to do the black hood and flares and then put it all back together including motor and gearbox but this has broken the back of it all....it's all downhill from here! Quote
zedevan Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 looks good, but ur making the rest of us look lazy... is it much effort to take the front and rear windows out? and do u need to replace the seals if you do? Quote
reverendzed Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 Hey Evan, normally you have to replace the seals as they are hard and unusable and not pliable enough to get back in. the beauty of this car is that they were only just replaced and nice and pliable. rev. Quote
lightmaster240z Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 looking good Rev all this work on the z what about your surman regards Bruce Quote

Add Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Hey Dave, You should go into business specialising in restoring 2+2's. Everyone restores 2 seaters, its an untapped market. Great work by the way mate. Cheers, Add Quote
reverendzed Posted June 6, 2009 Author Posted June 6, 2009 Update time! well it's been a lot of finding stuff and reassembly! it's so far coming up real nice as I've been able to sort most of what i need, here's a few pics. manual conversion has been done as far as pedal box to Master cylinder, gearbox is sitting on the shed floor waiting to be bolted on and then motor in, fuel tank, lower the springs and....(there's always an and at then end of any project!) Quote
Michael Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Ah! Paint and Wheels look Awesome Dude nice work xD Quote
C.A.R. Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Looking good mate! Do you still need a hand with the gearbox to engine install? Quote
reverendzed Posted June 6, 2009 Author Posted June 6, 2009 Sure do...but you're a workin' man now so I'll have to fit with you...anytime is fine! Quote

RBZ 260 Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 love your work Dave. another hot 2+2 destined for good times on the road once again. thanks to the saviour Revrendzed. hey u may end up one day as Saint Zed Quote
reverendzed Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 well things have been moving along BUT not without some hiccups! with the help of a very tall friend (again!) I got the old motor stripped down and the old Auto trans off. Then with all of the great tuition I have had lately, I got the new manual box on, motor swinging nicely on the hoist, almost in and.... someone had changed the engine mounts to accommodate some other motor!!! So engine out again and back to the drawing board! Thank God for the 'parts car'! I had to remove the cross member from that car and the resto and swap them around and then once again have a go at fitting the motor..this time everything was where it was meant to be! so tomorrow it should be tailshaft in and fuel tank in. Carbs and exhaust to be fitted and then we should be O.K to turn the key! Rev. Quote
reverendzed Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 I just found that I don't have the bolts that go through the gearbox support bracket....any suggestions? Quote
