Twin Hitachi SU Carbs Rebuild

Hi all, Newly registered but Ive been reading threads here for a long time. 

I need a bit of advice. I have an L28 motor with twin Hitachi round top carbs. Ive been told by a mechanic they're in need of a rebuild but Ive tried a couple of places around Brisbane and they've politely told me to move on, it's too much trouble finding parts etc. 

Does anyone know a shop that'll do the work? Even in another state if you know a good company there.

If you can stomach the costs. Ztherapy in the US of A does superb work refurbishing these.

I had a couple of sets done when the AUD$ was better and there is a long wait, but well worth it.

I rebuilt my own pair also (I have a couple of Zeds) and where Ztherapy are good is realignment of the needle / nozzles and the throttle shaft bushing (they use a roller bearing set up) which seems to provide a smoother throttle response.

I'm surprised that nobody locally will take it on. Parts are not that hard to find if you can use eBay and Ztherapy also do rebuild kits which you can buy.

You can try this company in Geelong when I spoke to them some time ago they had just rebuilt a set.

I got Les Collins Racing here in Vic to do my last set (customer restoration).
However, they cost many, many dollerydoos...

There is a shop out Wynnum that does them but will have to ask ZCCQ members.
