ZED660s Son Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 (edited) It is with a very heavy heart that I must announce the passing of my father, Geoff Owens (ZED660), after he lost his battle with Non-hodgkins Lymphoma on the 27th May. He fought hard for several years and never gave up on getting better, but cancer is a cruel thief in the night. He was a quick steerer, a great dad, husband and Poppy and his passing leaves a big hole in our hearts. R.I.P. Dad Edited June 9, 2022 by ZED660s Son Agno, CBR Jeff, OdinZ and 4 others 7 Quote

His dad was a mechanic by trade, there was no chance I was growing up without a love of cars and bikes. I went with him when he first bought the car and kept my mouth shut about the actual cost of what he'd just added to it when mum was within earshot. gav240z and 240ZBUILTBYME 2 Quote
C.A.R. Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 I'm a bit stunned to hear this as I only spoke to him last year... I met Geoff on many occasions - especially when he was attending P.I. Historic's in his Zed. He was a top bloke. My sincerest condolences to the Owens family. R.I.P. Geoff. -Locky. ZED660s Son and gav240z 2 Quote

He was very much like his Dad. He just got on with it and didn't let his illness dictate his frame of mind. His parents lived to 92. He didn't smoke, wasn't a big drinker and wasn't overweight. He had good genetics and really deserved to enjoy getting old.. He got short changed in the worst possible way. gav240z 1 Quote

PeterAllen Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Terribly saddened to hear this news. Geoff was one of natures gentlemen and a 'Shire Boy' to boot. We met numerous times when I consulted him during my build and we swapped parts, etc. On one occasion my car lost a wheel on a drive through The National Park. I wasn't carrying a spare but thankfully it was no trouble (so he said) for him to come immediately to my assistance - that just the kind of guy he was. My sincerest condolences to those left behind. That's Dad alright.. If my sister or I were out in the city and rang at 3am looking for a lift, he never even flinched, he'd just let us know how long he'd be. If I needed company on a drive out to Wagga Wagga to pick up an E30 on a trailer and bring it back the same day, he was up for it. There were 350 odd people at his funeral. He did a lot of good in his life. PeterAllen and gav240z 2 Quote
