I was talking with Gerhard Metz on Sunday and he has Nissan 4 spots with a Ford rotor that is an easy conversion. Just bung the holes in the caliper and redrill. Bore out the ID on the rotor and shave some material off the face. Done.

I've done the same Gearhard Metz conversion before and it works very well. Bit of running around to do but worth it. From memory you need a disc DBA106B (the B is for Blank ie no holes for wheel studs) and you need to machine 6-7mm from the hub face where the disc mounts (to move the disc further out) and as luvemfast says bung the holes and you are done! Best thing about it you have a caliper that says Nissan too!

Problem is, last time i checked DBA won't sell undrilled rotors anymore...

Yes the 12+8 calipers do - see Sulio's Zed.

 

The later model S12 calipers are for vented rotors.

yer i think the S12+8's on my car are off a 83 to 89 hilux. they fit great and are working great with the stock 7/8 master cylinder.

I read somewhere that the HILUX VENTED ROTOR CLAIPER or the HILUX NON-VENTED ROTOR CALIPER will both work on a standard S-30 NON-VENTED ROTOR.

 

The pistons on the VENTED ROTOR CALIPER will push in enough to work on NON-VENTED ROTOR.

 

But the gap on the NON-VENTED ROTOR CALIPER is not wide enough to take the VENTED ROTOR.

 

The following install uses the S12+8 calipers on a non vented rotor.

Yes that is true, I have a pair of both sets of callipers at home, they will both work.  Unfortunately the vented ones are cracked or id say they are for sale and he others are on my car.

your vented ones did not crack because the pistons had to travel so far did they?

lol, no.  The guy who gave them to me had grinded a bit of metal off to make them fit his 120y, but they failed.  They had just been rebuilt so he gave me them for the pads and any other parts i might be able to use from them.
