I'm after some good looking door mirrors. I've done some searching but haven't found anything yet that I like. What are other people using?

I like chrome bullet mirrors and one of those that that works well would be nice. I have one on another car and as a mirror it's a bit crap. So don't want to buy them if they won't work on the car.

Any classic sporty mirror suggestions?

Greg,

Finding the right mirrors can be a pain. I went through the process in 1996 when I was doing a repaint on my 240Z. I found a mirror that looked good fitted in the same position as the factory door mirrors, and actually works really well. still fitted and loving them.  I selected the mirrors fitted to the factory Ford GTHO as I could colour code it to the car. The added advantage is they are available though rare spares.  I have attached a ford image to show the mirror style. I hope this helps

Cheers

Was about to say the XA-XC door mirrors, not necessarily the GT mirrors, they are different between the XW-XY and XA-XC models.

I have a pair of XB mirrors from my old car that for whatever reason are still in my garage. They work well as mirrors being actually usable and as the glass moves not the housing to adjust don't get knocked around or moved by vibration.

If anyone is interested I could be persuaded to sell the mirrors I have as they definitely don't suit the Charger.

I have a selection of mirrors but will be fitting a pair of Brock Racing mirrors to my car. Practical and effective. I fitted them recently and they look good. I have had them for ages and had forgotten about them until recently.

I'm a big fan of raydyot mirrors on these cars. Very Z432-R or works rally car.

Other than that, I like the black fender mirrors, the OEM RH side mirror and the Falcon mirrors pictured above (very period correct mod).

My 71 240z has had a fender mirror modified to fit on the door. Kind of like it, just needs a repaint.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. The GT ones are not bad looking, but think the one on the car Gav posted is probably my pick.Period look, looks like it would work ok and  I like the way the mount has some length to it to flow it into the car.

Unfortunately when searching for the  raydyot  mirror I haven't found anything like it.

This is what i have. But may be soon changing to fender mirrors

That looks quite nice. Do you recall where you bought it from?

I found a place in UK with a good range.  https://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/side-mirrors#/pageSize=20&viewMode=grid&orderBy=0

This one looks quite good but I know sometimes without the stalk adjustment and visibility can be limited. 100mm diameter. Perhaps that might look too big. https://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/classic-bullet-mirror-chrome-plated-brass-100mm

I object your honor! My search machine works just fine. It's your link that doesn't work :)

Found heaps of raydyot  mirrors like in your link, but not like the one on the 240. Only raydyots I could find are those less attractive spun things with all the screws on them and ugly mount.

Have you got a link to one that looks like the one of that 240?

You mean my white 240z above with the black mirror? With faded paint on it?

That's an OEM fender mirror with the stalk cut short and fitted on the door.

I would probably not cut a genuine fender mirror now. Given their price for genuine OEM these days, both new and used, but good news is you can get 510 mirrors with a shorter stalk on them but same head and chop away at those with less guilt. Might even find a used 1 at a good price without the mounting springs in the base etc.. I often see them cheap like that. However since they are Chromed you'll want to strip that off anyway and repaint it black.

Ok I get it now. I thought it was a tarnished chrome mirror made by raydyot.  So my search machine works, I just can't read and consequently spend hours searching for things that only exist in my head.

Not quite a pretty as the OEM copy, but quite good value. This might be me.

Philistine...

Being uneducated on the brand it's all about function and style for me and they don't score well compared to some of the other bullet mirrors. A brand name alone can only keep a reputation going for so long.

I needed mirrors for my RWC a few months ago so I fitted a set of vitaloni california mirrors as a trial.

I think they look ok, but not the best. The biggest problem is that there is not enough adjustment on the passenger side mirror, so you can't see anything. They are on the list to replace as soon as possible.
