I'm waiting for a shipping quote from the zed store at the moment and am guessing the shipping is going to be more than the parts.

I've thought about this a lot actually. The trouble is none of us are co-ordinated in terms of our orders. If we could get a good group of us together who are co-ordinated on part orders and what we need we could do bulk importing via sea freight and it would work out much much cheaper. But it's a bit like herding cats. For now though I'm not going to get into this, I am just trying to keep the order as simple as possible and with minimal points of contact. If that works well will evaluate doing more of this sort of thing and look at other items / vendors. But this is very much a part time gig for me, and comes second to my full time job.

Just hoping I don't get burned doing it :D.

Ok guys,

Let's try and wrap this up over the next few days.

I am going to go back to Crow with this laundry list and he will then inform me if he can match the order. There might be a little wiggle room for last call on parts between then and now.

If the prices are not to your expectation (factoring in more charges when they arrive) then we can cancel your request.

I DO NOT KNOW IF WE WILL BOTHER TO DO THIS AGAIN SO IF YOU ARE HOLDING OUT THINKING YOU'LL CATCH THE NEXT ROUND. MY ADVICE IS DON'T!

Hi Gav

You might want to check but I think ANY import after 1 July 2018 will incur 10% GST regardless of it value ( not under $1000 as it is now).

And import duties.... and inspection fees........

I've made the mistake of having a total order from the Zstore over $1000 before and the taxes and duties on top ended up being around 20-25% of the order price

The 10% duty already applied before this date. Because the items get shipped in a container with other stuff the total is always over $1000 AUD anyway, so all items always attracted the 10% tax.

But yes, quarantine is a bit of a gamble and will depend on items and how dirty / clean they are along with what they are and how they are packaged (wooden crate?) This is why I think anyone requesting stuff should focus on what is impossible to find here (or close to it) because it will almost always be cheaper to buy locally if an option exists.

The GST is calculated on the total cost of the goods, the shipping charges and the insurance. Not just the goods.

And make sure nothing you import contains asbestos..... or then it really will be expensive.

Can't find any good ones locally? Can put you down. But all North American fenders have indicator cut outs. AU and HK markets didn't have holes. But they are exception rather than rule.

Hey sorry couldn't find where this was posted to follow up

I can't find anyone willing to part with one that's in better condition than what I already have. What sort of price would I be looking at?

Thanks Gav!

Hi folks,

I thought I better update this thread. I sent off a wish list to Crow in California and we missed chatting a couple of weeks back and I have been intending to follow up with him, I am hoping to this week. Just been distracted between site upgrades, working on my own car(s), my day job and sorting out some other imports for my own cars (mostly).

I had 2 rear 1/4 panels come in recently and will need to collect them soon. Just sent payment off for a NOS rear 1/4 panel + a couple of other NOS panels I might use on my own cars.

As for prices I'm waiting for Crow to come back to me with prices.

I am thinking of collecting deposits for cost of panels from everyone in advance then when everything arrives, will send another bill to cover shipping + costs on my end etc..(this would be 2-3 months after so gives you some time to get money together etc.)

So for now I will be able to give costs of panels and I'd recommend factoring in about 30% on top when it arrives here etc..

Giving an exact figure is going to be a challenge for a number of reasons. Exchange rate, quarantine unknowns on this end, final shipping to your location etc.. but will do my best to give a close estimate based on items I've done so far for myself.

Hi Guys,

I have my rear 1/4 panels (picked them up Friday).  Sold Payment Received.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/QrfuS2t9bWo71wHk6

I was originally going to keep the LH (passenger side) but should have secured a NOS panel now. So both are now up for sale.

Looking for $1,300 for each side (cheaper price here for Auszcar members and for donating members may offer further discount). Will advertise elsewhere also, but at a higher price.

I've taken plenty of photos, I suspect the drivers side dog leg has a section with a small amount of body filler in it (indicated by my hand in the photos). Otherwise I think they are pretty good, just surface rust on the side (which is why they rust out, especially in the wheel arch sections).

There is a couple of dings and dents on the passenger side in particular (hard to photograph), but nothing that would phase a good panel beater. Both sides have small drill holes in the rear from what looks like a 3 piece rear wing spoiler.

I've annotated some of the images to give a sense of issues etc..

I *might* be able to bring to Melbourne with me in August (heading down for a friends wedding) but would rather not lug them half way down the coast if I can avoid it.

Hey Guys,

Actually mostly my fault at this point, the short version is 27th of October I'm getting married and as you can imagine that's expensive. :). But also I was worried these panels would arrive in Sydney while I was away in October in Melbourne and you end up paying storage costs when they sit in a warehouse. A few weeks of that would be enough to kill any profit margin.

A while back I imported 2 rear 1/4 panels and for a while I wasn't sure there was going to be demand to import panels as they were not selling, but then a couple of weeks back I sold them, along with a pair of Z-therapy SU's I had rebuilt. So that's given me the confidence to import more. Just have to be prepared to leave capital tied up for a bit.

However a couple of things to keep in mind.

1. $AUD is weak vs $USD and 240z parts are going up in price in the US. I know some people are desperate for sections either way.

2. I have a NOS rear 1/4 panel (both sides) but 1 side is in NL (Europe) along with a rear valance section (again NOS). Before I install these on my car I'd like to get them scanned or examined. I am contemplating investing in reproduction panels for S30Z's. Best time to do that is with the panels off the car (not installed on #51).

I think the big market will be the US and I know there is a couple of companies locally that may be able to help out. Since bonnets are available, I think rear 1/4 panels could save a lot of cars (make them viable for restoration), and rear valance / beaver panels is another impossible to find section (as you know!). The other section I think worth investing in in roof skins.

Door skins, front wings, bonnets, lower valance (front), dog legs, rockers, floor pans already exist as reproduction items.

I am heading to the US early Nov (right after my wedding actually) but I don't think I'll get time to go from San Francisco down to Crow in LA. I would like to, but I never have enough time.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys. I've had a few people asking, but not an easy task to sort with all my work commitments on top also. :(
