AndBir Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Targa High Country 2016 Friday 4th Nov -Sunday 6th Nov Is anyone from the AusZcar community competing in or attending this years Targa High Country rally? I recall seeing a couple of Z cars there last year. Hopefully the Mansfield town stage is a bit more interesting than the limited course they had last year. Here is a link to the Targa web page : https://targa.com.au/tc/ Quote
C.A.R. Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I know John & Gina Siddins have entered. Quote
AndBir Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 Thanks Lurch, I will be going along and will keep an eye out for them. I see there were actually five 240z cars competing in last years High Country Targa : 541 Cardinaels - Page 1972 Datsun 240Z 497 Lomman - Bainbridge 1971 Datsun 240Z 457 Knappstein - Knappstein 1969 Datsun 240Z 465 Siddins - Siddins 1970 Datsun 240Z 407 Goodwin - Smith 1973 Datsun 240Z Found two (poor) pictures of car 457's engine bay: Quote

240z71 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Anyone have any word on how the legacy boys are going with the rebuild. They gonna be ready for high country ? Quote

AndBir Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 I'll be back this year, got a trophy to defend. Roger Let's hope the weather is better this year. Here is some short videos of the last corner of the last leg of the rally (Z drivers behaving others having some "fun") : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xl20e9wpoina2aa/AABWVDXfw1grGu-nEScDnRcpa?dl=0 Rodger - I think your car is : Zed_GOPR0134.MP4 (best to download then watch as otherwise you may get poor resolution / buffering depending on your internet speed) Quote
AndBir Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 I know John & Gina Siddins have entered. Their most recent video of them at Targa Tasmania 2016 : blu260z 1 Quote
240z71 Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Roger ended up being the only one representing the Zeds at high country this year?. There was 5 last year. I known that John siddins unfortunetly was sick and pulled out last minute. Anyone know what happened to the legacy boys? Just not ready in time? Quote
AndBir Posted November 7, 2016 Author Posted November 7, 2016 I missed getting there to see the rally, looks like it would have been challenging road conditions at times : Quote
RLY240 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Another great event at High Country this year with the full range of weather thrown in for good measure. Unfortunately the Siddins had to withdraw just before the start and with Goodwin moving to a 300zx meant we were the only S30 in the main comp although there was a 240 in one of the speed limited categories. We were very happy this year to finish 3rd in Classic GT behind the TR7 of Haysman/Boorman and the Hammond/Dunkerton Jag and I think about 27th outright against all the modern cars too. Only a week now until Classic Adelaide which is shaping up as a good event this year. Roger Quote
260DET Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Nice work Roger, you certainly do a few events. Quote
RLY240 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Nice work Roger, you certainly do a few events. 2 rallies a year and they are two weeks apart. Thrilled. Roger Groundhog 1 Quote
