dat2kman Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 I've now taken over my new building, had three partition walls built, got three tenants in, and my things are being moved into the fourth unit. Will look at formal subdividing at some stage. A lot easier to lease 3x 130-150 sq m units, than one single 650 sq m unit. Old Toranas, italian exotics, and US muscle cars, tenants also pay for all outgoings, and no electricity is required. About 15 years ago, i had a Self Storage complex, that was a very simple operation, only needed to devote around 10 hours per week to its management and maintenance. Free time to play with my cars was nice! Quote
dat2kman Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Gav, move up here, there is another one coming up. Its a biggish single, but could be very easily split into 3 or 4 individuals. If you dont, I'll have a look at it,,,,, It is in a fairly strong automotive enclave, with a number of very well known motorsport , restoration, fabrication etc, guys here. 25 mins North of Airport, 40 mins North of City, good access roads for semi trailers. No B Doubles ( damn says Gav,,,,, he cant get the B-Dub in,,,,!) gav240z 1 Quote
PZG302 Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Hmmm, food for thought for me their Jason if I end up spending a lot more time offshore in the next few years. Sell up the house and just have a shed for the cars. For the time I am in Brisbane I could just rent a serviced apartment for a few weeks at a time. Would be alot cheaper than keeping a house and the associated dramas when you aren't there. Quote
TomC18 Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Just put a deposit down on a warehouse in Moorabbin, settling Feb. Have a couple of people interested for long term storage and occasional work on project cars, there is room available for 10-12 cars (apart from our ones) or we may just lease out the front half (approx 270m2) as it has separate roller door/office etc. Anyone interested let me know. Still working on the business model, but may have hoist access by arrangement. There is an engine dyno and chassis dyno within 100m and a Pedders for alignments 300m away... Still looking for decent painters... gav240z and Ponyo240z 2 Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 16, 2016 Author Administrators Posted November 16, 2016 Congratulations, I tried to buy a place in Reservoir but got outbid at auction. It would have been perfect. Oh well..be interested to hear how things go. Quote
TomC18 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Spending most weekends there at the moment cleaning it up - labour of love! Amazing what an 80 year old engineer retains Basically everything they've ever owned in this case... We are going the basic storage route, so should be clean dry and ready to go mid-late Feb. gav240z 1 Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted January 19, 2017 Author Administrators Posted January 19, 2017 Any photos mate? I tried to buy this place last year, it sold for close to 1.2M which was too high for me to keep going. It would have been perfect, as it was already set up as a warehouse + home. Still pissed off about it. But that's life. Still Waiting for Godot in terms of property prices becoming more reasonable.. Ponyo240z 1 Quote
TomC18 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Nice Car collection! it's fair to say ours is a bit rougher (and was a lot cheaper to buy) but has a lot of 'potential' cracker, Ponyo240z and gav240z 3 Quote
