It had an equally risque TV ad.

It went along the lines of

How you the see the car - shows the car outside the girls house

How her parents see the car - shows a four poster double bed outside the girls house.

It obviously left an impression on you ;).

 

My friend is a camera man who loves digging out old footage. He recently bought out a bunch of Beta tapes with some old Bathurst footage amongst other motorsport footage from the early 80s.

 

From time to time he sends me vintage car commercials he pulls off these tapes. I encourage him to upload them to Youtube.

I bought a three year old Series 2 TRX in my younger years.  Not a bad handling car compared to what was available at the time.  The Series 1's were Datsuns and the Series 2 & 3's were Nissans.

 

The auxiliary gauges were vacuum fluorescent bar graphs.  Every now and then these gauges would just go out, requiring a strong whack on the top of the dashboard to get them working again.
