K-Style Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Made myself a custom watchface for my Gear S2 watch: I used a CAD program to trace a picture of a JECO 240Z clock. Did a little editing in paint.net and uploaded it to my watch. gav240z, Ponyo240z, Sirpent and 3 others 6 Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted July 7, 2016 Administrators Posted July 7, 2016 Very cool, but you know what's cool? The rally clock face lol.. Six_Shooter 1 Quote
K-Style Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 The rally clock face lol.. Hmm. I was going to see what else I could CAD but probably the Rally/Calendar version 74/76 clockface should come next. I didn't add any depth to the watchface as depth doesn't look right on the digital display. Pitch black background looks best and gives the best battery life. Quote

NZeder Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Like it Rally Clock face would be cool. I have been thinking about getting a smart watch - so feedback on the Gear S2? Quote
brent012 Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Looks good! The rally clock face would make a nice mechanical watch I reckon, there seems to be a huge modding community around Seiko 5s (can get them new for ~$80 on ebay). Seems like someone already had the car inspired seiko 5 idea though! https://themonsieur.com/2014/09/20/build-any-watch-you-want-with-seiko-5/ Quote
K-Style Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 Just popped back in to say I've been very lazy (if rebuilding a deck and working is lazy). I'm happy enough with the early clock for now. The dark theme is very good for battery life. My Advice NZder: think about the Smartwatch and whether you really need one. I haven't worn watches for years and due to work I haven't really worn the Gear S2 lately either. I didn't know about the LG Urbane when I grabbed the S2. It looks pretty nice and solid but other than that I don't know too much about it. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 13, 2016 Administrators Posted November 13, 2016 I'm just wondering which CAD program you used? I just got given the new Huawei Watch. https://store.google.com/product/huawei_watch I would like to build a custom face that looks like the Jeco Rally Clocks. I'm obsessed. Quote

I'm still using this as my watchface. I used Fusion 360. I built the text from lines and chamfered corners. If you pick up Fusion I could share my stuff with you. It's free for Hobbyists for now at least. I did a Watanabe wheel in Fusion too. Quote
Dionysus Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Nice... I just smashed my Garmin VivoActive and replaced it with a Fossil Q Marshal. Quote
