specialp3 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Hi All, I recently received an email alert for a 240z for sale, the car is advertised for $16,000.00 and as you can see is worth much more than the asking price. After contacting the seller by email (no phone number available) i have received many images and emails regarding the purchase of the the vehicle. As it seems to good to be true, I have researched the payment method and Amazon payments is a scam. The email below is the most recent I have received this morning:- "Hello again , As I mentioned in my previous e-mail at this moment I am in RAAF Base , NT military base, getting ready for Afghanistan, and I have the car with me.I'm in a special training program before my deployment and I am not allowed to get out of the unit or have visitors.I can ship the car to you without problems using army transport and logistic system. You will receive the car along with all the documents. As for the payment I can start a transaction through Amazon Payment. All I need is your full name and address so I can contact them and after that they will contact you to explain the entire procedure without any obligation to buy it or fees. They act as a third party and will protect both of us in this transaction. You'll make the payment in an Amazon managed trust fund! After that, I send it over ( the car will be delivered with the title, owner's manual, service records, and of course the bill of sale authorized and signed by me).You will have 7 days inspection period on it from the day you'll receive the car, you can inspect it, take it to a mechanic to check it out, ride it and then if you decided to keep it, you'll confirm to Amazon the sale. If by any reason, you will not be satisfied with the car ( even though I can assure you that it is exactly as described, in excellent condition), you can return it at my expense for a full refund of your money, no hidden or extra cost for you.So, this is not a blind transaction, you can see it before committing to buy and to eliminate any concerns you will have 7 days to inspect it and I think this is more than fair for both of us.I tried to explain as best I can but if you have further questions do not hesitate to contact me. I will wait your details (full name and shipping address) if we have a deal." I have attached a few of the many photo's I have received, this is a current members car I believe Another screenshot is from a blog about the scam where Steve Rodriguez had a 1964 Dodge Phoenix for sale. Rarely do I post anything but I thought you all should know about this scam as I was almost ready to accept the offer. Cheers, Aaron Jeep62 1 Quote

Jeep62 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 SCAMMER AT IT AGAIN I received this email this morning, after inquiring about the vehicle and trying to phone his phony number where he listed the white Jeep on Quicksales.com. I could not reach quicksales admin, so found they operate carsales.com.au where I have phoned them and directed them to the item number for the Jeep ad. The account has been suspended whilst they investigate the intent to commit fraud. I have directed them to this link for viczcar of this thread so they can gain other names he is using, emails etc. No doubt he is doing the rounds, pretty low, some unsuspecting person may trust someone from the military, rotter! If something seems to good to be true, it usually is- please spread the word on forums as I am not usually a part of car forums, but had to write this post to warn others. 2011 - Jeep - Grand Cherokee - 9.000AU$ Inbox x Sean Clifton <seanclifton@dynamicintll.com> 7:50 AM (3 hours ago) Reply to me Hello,I still have the car Jeep Grand Cherokee for sale and I am ready to let it go. OdinZ Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 (edited) Hi all, I have just found another scam/to good to be true. sales ad link is here: http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/classifieds/index?a=2&b=6977 So I tried calling, number not valid. Noticed the seller mentioned 10mins from Melbourne CBD, but located near Geelong (not 10mins), then please have a look at my email thread below after I sent my enquiry through the website: From: Irene Suzanna Humphreys <ireneshumphreys@eolienne-ind.com>Date: Tuesday, 14 February 2017 at 7:07 AMTo: Ned <ned@.com.au>Subject: SPORTS COUPE CLASSIC DATSUN 260Z Hi, I appreciate your interest. My advert is still valid, the car runs and drives excellent and has been extremely well maintained with a full service history and all necessary documents available. The only problem is that I am now located in Perth ( WA 6150 ). It is also posted on eBay, and if you want to buy through eBay and PayPal I can offer a free delivery and I take a commitment to deliver it with the same price ( AUD $7,000 ) and including testing period. Regards MY REPLY Hi Irene, Thank you for your reply. Can you please advise where the car is currently located? As you only posted the ad last week, I assume it is still in Victoria. Could you please provide your contact number so we can chat over the phone? I would like to inspect the vehicle and test drive. Also, I cannot find the listing on ebay, could you please provide the item/listing number for ebay? Regards From: Irene Suzanna Humphreys <ireneshumphreys@eolienne-ind.com> Date: Tuesday, 14 February 2017 at 9:48 AMTo: Ned <ned@.com.au>Subject: Re: SPORTS COUPE CLASSIC DATSUN 260Z Hi, Because i`m in Perth ( WA 6150 ), and the car is here with me, the entire transaction will be completed trough eBay and PayPal. They will handle everything for both of us, including transportation and the transfer of the car papers to your name. You don't have to pay anything extra, the total price that you must pay for this car is AUD $7,000. Here is how the process works: I will make a private eBay listing for you. You will have to click "buy it now",fill in the forms and follow the instructions. PayPal will send you an invoice with all the transaction details and the payment instructions. You will have to secure the funds to PayPal. After the funds will be secured to PayPal,the delivery will begin and the car will arrive to you in max.48 hours. When the car will be in your custody, you will have a 7 days inspection period. If everything is alright, the transaction ends and PayPal will release the money to me. If there is something wrong with the car, you will be fully refunded and I'll get my car back too, without any extra fees. Everything is covered by PayPal & eBay. I will get paid only after you confirm that you received it. I would need your eBay username so I can send you the link. I'm waiting for your reply. Thank you **Edit: Car sold last year on ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/132013237456?ul_noapp=true&rmvSB=true also posted to the sales thread here http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1924-cars-for-sale-3rd-party-sites-ebay-carsales-etc/page-225#entry185435 Edited February 13, 2017 by OdinZ Quote
