I love purple on zeds, would be tempted to get a liter of #362 to see what it looks like. Would have to be the rarest zed color, never seen a registered one. You could always redo it in #362. For example 918 is Kalahari Tan, 920 is Safari Gold, 905 Monte Carlo Red etc.. But not all paint codes have such exotic names. #362 Seems to be a purple hue but I can't for the life of me recall what it looks like now. Quote

Funny thing about that second photo is that I recall seeing that picture around 97/98 when I first started looking at S30z's on the Internet... Has this really weird supra style spoiler Things not working so far: Clock (what was anyone expecting) Interior light (Bulb blown) Left front headlight high beam (Globe) Key cylinder (Won't allow it to run the starter but has a funky push button start) Everything seems to be in fairly good shape! Other then rust: Firewall (Complete hole through firewall behind battery apparently the pre-pre owner dropped the battery and spilt acid on that spot) Drivers floor-pan (been repaired and painted over but still) Body has a few bubbles but nothing too serious. Contains so much terrible music but also the first track is Captain Planet which is a little odd Also, the fuel pump makes a reasonably loud clicking noise when running. I assume this is normal? Now the fun begins. Like someone else posted before, have fun with it, you'll learn a lot as you go. Andrew_L26 Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 So I have come across a few more issues whilst changing oil, fixing little things. The main issue is that there is a fair bit of rust under the front cover (under the wipers) it's not too bad but there are a few holes. The next issue is that the car has some (presumably) aftermarket electric fans which aren't functioning. I believe that it is a connection issue as all of the spade connectors are pretty corroded. Administrators gav240z Posted July 9, 2015 Administrators Posted July 9, 2015 If it were me, I'd remove the thermofans and re-install the stock clutch fan. I had a thermofan in my 260z years ago and it was nothing but trouble. It drew too many amps and the alternator couldn't keep up. So it made the battery go flat on more than 1 occasion. Clutch fan is simple and reliable...Albeit saps a small amount of power. The rust spots look common enough, but a little tricky to repair given that you can't get replacement panels / sections in those areas. You've got your work cut out for you there. I suspect the floors will be worse than they look. Quote

One thing to remember when you look at your rust that needs repairing, is ×2 if you can see it chances are there is a heap more you cant see. I believe the car was the 304 gold metallic as that is what is under it and in other areas such as behind carpet etc. Also, I was wondering if this floor pan from rare spares would be ok for the 2+2, it states that it will not be suitable but I thought they would be ok may require a bit of welding and fab but where would the fun be if it was just drop in, weld and go haha Quote

So it depends how fastidious you want to be. Also 2+2 floors are longer than 2 seaters so I guess it depends on how much of the floor you need to replace. I would get the sound deadening material up and then determine how much of the floors need to be replaced. Quote

I thought about getting the whole engine bay painted however it was painted 8-10 years ago and it seems to be in good condition everywhere but those rust spots in the firewall Zedstar 1 Quote
