Six_Shooter Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I'm not 100% convinced it is a Z. The front edge of the hood looked too rounded and the hood bulge looked odd. The windsheild shape looked right, but I know there were a few cars back then that used a very similarly shaped and sized windsheild, like an Alfo Romeo that for instance. I saw one at a local race once and swore up and down the guy used an S30 windsheild in it, but after some research it was the\ stock Alfa windsheild. I'm also not convinced it's not a Z either. The flashes on the screen were too short when seeing it for the first time to really hone in on what it was. Whatever it is, I want to see more. Quote
CroS13 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Im not going crazy i was thinking the same thing, need more photos for confirmation! Rudi. Quote
G Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 Confirmed? http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/revhead-review-mad-max-fury-road-20150514-gh1scb.html Quote
Six_Shooter Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I wouldn't call it confirmed yet, because there's no 'Vette in the movie, what looks like a 'Vette is an Australian based car that looks very much like a 'Vette. http://www.caranddriver.com/flipbook/exclusive-first-look-the-cars-of-mad-max-fury-road#4 Quote
Six_Shooter Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I found a video that talks about the cars of Fury Road and the only car that I saw that looked S30-ish is not an S30, nor an S130. The fenders and cowl are wrong. It looks MG or Alpha Romeo like to me. Quote
zzzzed Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 It says in the link provided by G that there is a 260z in the movie and I belive that it is that thing in the above picture that looks a little like a vett. That is no Australian based car. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted May 17, 2015 Administrators Posted May 17, 2015 That 'Corvette' looking thing kind of looks like it might be based on a Bolwell http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolwell#Mk_VI But we didn't have many sporting coupe's produced in Australia. Quote
74zzz Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 yes it is its called a parrenti..............corvette rip off made in Aus year ago Quote
74zzz Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/car_info_revolution.php sorry its perrenti Quote
dat2kman Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 The other small pictured car, with single 7" diam headlamps, in grey may be a Loyis Europa, well, the body mould of one, shoved onto a Suzuki Viatara chassis! Quote
kohan Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Yeah I knew of austrlian 70's sports cars, and i thought that it was perhaps a bowlell. My dad came over today and asked about the 70's sports cars and he told me about the parenti, so i searched it and that was certainly the car, like 74zzz said Quote
Gordo Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 They were built in Bayswater Vic. Based on the Holden HQ to Hz chassis .back in the mid 80s. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted May 17, 2015 Administrators Posted May 17, 2015 I just saw the film tonight and it's definitely a 260z in that canyon scene, you also see the back of it briefly and it appears to be a 2+2 roofline. The rear hatch is missing and I think has a turret or some kind of weapon out the back. Pretty funny to see it. Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I haven't seen the movie but is this it at 2:20 Yep, thats the Perrenti. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted May 18, 2015 Administrators Posted May 18, 2015 Ahh really thought it was a 2+2 gold find Lurch. How did you find it? Looks like Kobe Seiko KS wheels haha j/k but similar to the rally car look. Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Ahh really thought it was a 2+2 gold find Lurch. How did you find it? Looks like Kobe Seiko KS wheels haha j/k but similar to the rally car look. Probably R31 Skyline steel wheels. Quote
dat2kman Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 15" Steelies with rears having the rims reversed on the centres, and chunky A/T rubber, for all the sand work. Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Always thought the burning man Z wouldn't look too out of place in a mad max movie. Quote
zzzzed Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Ahh really thought it was a 2+2 gold find Lurch. How did you find it? Looks like Kobe Seiko KS wheels haha j/k but similar to the rally car look. It's all over face book Quote
CroS13 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 its also in motor magazine or street machine. they had a little snippet of the cars, apparently there is also a R32 skyline abit heavily modified visually. Rudolf. Quote
