Administrators gav240z Posted November 4, 2014 Administrators Posted November 4, 2014 First up Gav if you don't want this on here take it down. I will be fine with that as I understand the way it works. As if i'd take this thread down. I encourage any early Datsun/Nissan style. These are super cool cars, I'm actually quite keen on the 4 doors and I'm a huge fan of this car. (Safari Gold of course!) Owners Channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/user/sasebogc10 I have to say I'm really into the old S20 powered Nissan's. I know it's far more practical and accessible to get 1 with an L-GATA motor in it, but listen to this thing sing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oya6WqRNFtY this car and put off some renos so the missus aint super happy. I think for 12 months I will just drive and maintain. Really depends what it is actually like. Although I got alot of pics we all know pics hide stuff. The car was purchased new by an older farmer. Who barely drove it. The a bloke around my age purchased it and over many years done the gtr clone makeover. Apparently its only done 35000km. We will see I guess. Its not like I cant fix it. Sometimes I wish my 240z was a running restoration, it is a little hard sometimes not being able to experience the car properly and working away at it's restoration. I vote to keep it on the road if a little rough at first and just enjoy. I honestly don't know where you find the time! I've got 2 240z's and an FD RX-7 and there's still so much work to be done on all 3 of them - arghhh wish I didn't have to work full time . If I didn't already have so many damn cars, I'd probably try and find a C110 skyline to turn into a GTR clone. Just for something different. Quote
Ledge Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 It was more about the "not a Z car" Gav. I realise a lot of people here like the early skylines. That's why I thought I would do a thread. All the local guys know how many hours ive been doing to make this happen. It does help that the missus works every second weekend so I can also. Hate sitting at home watching TV when there are cars to buy. There is a nice safari gold 2 door for sale at the moment. pricey though. When it arrives I will do what is required to register it and just drive the thing. Over time I will restore it, but try to keep it on the road as well. This car will more than likely receive my LY replica engine. Time will tell I guess. Thanks guys for the kind words as well. Regards Paul Quote
Ledge Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 Doom, whilst I was looking for the C10 I noticed a lot of c210 like yours. all with the jdm flares etc. They look really good. May be a cool option for you cheers Quote
DOOM Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Doom, whilst I was looking for the C10 I noticed a lot of c210 like yours. all with the jdm flares etc. They look really good. May be a cool option for you cheers Im going to stay away from flares personally, they do look good and they suit coupe's even more. However I don't want to ruin the lovely crease down the side cutting it up for some flares, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Quote
