jessedeanz Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Hello everyone. I am new and as the subject states I am quite a ways away from you guys. I am here to look for some help with parts I may need that are unavailable in the states. I want to do a RHD conversion on my Z. Does anyone have any part plavlces to recommend or any advice on doing a LHD to RHD conversion? Any advice or direction would be awesome. Quote
andyk_79 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 The USA has a much bigger supply of parts places than Australia. Most of the Z parts I ordered to finish restoring my car came from USA. Also take a look at Yahoo Auctions Japan (it's in Japanese though) as there is still a lot of stuff floating around in the Japanese market. Quote
jessedeanz Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 We do have a ton of parts but RHD for the s30's are nearly non existent over here. And i will be sure to check it out. Thanks! Quote
thriller Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Stalk gumtree and the classifieds here for a cheap 260z 2+2. If they can split parts for you, grab the firewall & steering rack and that should be mostly it. Brake/clutch cylinders and a few other little things might be different, not too sure. Then just keep an eye out for a 240z dash, or use a 260z one if it doesn't bother you too much. Quote
dat2kman Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 A member on here, 260det is selling off a fair bit f 240z stuff, ncluding dash, steering column, wheel, he has a veritable pile of a collection of collected bits over many years of playing with Zeds. He's not too keen on packaging and shipping items, you'd need someone on your behalf to go and collect, package up and arrange shipping, from this end. I can do it if need be. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted September 12, 2014 Administrators Posted September 12, 2014 Why are you blokes over that side of the world wanting to do conversions to drive on the wrong side of the road? Is it a hipster fad or is there another reason? Quote
dat2kman Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Happy to sell you an ultra rare RHD 280Z race car! Going by what the US road transport Authourities allow on their roads, this lowered nousy angry 280Z would fit right in! Quote
240z71 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Hey mate, I've got an old 2+2 shell that has a good fire wall you could use from it as well as some other RHD bits and pieces, steering rack, steering column and a manual pedal box, if these parts are needed? let me know if your interested Quote

Well a dash would be most useful. I will search for him and see what kind of prices he would be looking for. Thank you a lot. I will also pay some cash out for your help. Quote

How much would you want for the steering rack? Also do you happen to have a dash as well would you? Quote
Six_Shooter Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Why are you blokes over that side of the world wanting to do conversions to drive on the wrong side of the road? Is it a hipster fad or is there another reason? It's a status thing. If someone here has a RHD car, they (supposedly) own a true JDM car. Personally the only cars I would want to own in RHD status are cars that never came in a LHD version, like a Skyline... but I digress. Quote
jessedeanz Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 I dont want to do it for the JDM factor. I just like having something nobody see's often. A datsun is rare. An rb swapped datsun is even more so. But a rhd rb swapped datsun is insanely rare. Quote
240z71 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Awesome. How much would you want for the steering rack? Also do you happen to have a dash as well would you? hey, as I would like to keep the shell rolling with the rack still in it to make it easy to steer around I would rather not just sell the rack by itself. I thought you might have wanted a RHD firewall as when I was looking at importing a 240z and doing a conversion found it was somewhat essential. If you only need a rack you'd be better of dealing with a wreaker or parts yard. Sorry I couldn't help mate, good luck with your conversion should be great when it's finished Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted September 13, 2014 Administrators Posted September 13, 2014 You can get a RHD S30z dashboard from Top Stage in carbon fiber. http://www.topstage.com/ Same as the 1 in this car. Quote

If you want something rare, nothing rarer than this one, only car raced by a famous Australian zed racer for 15 years, you can have this for 2.5k only one in the world. he will be still racing in another car but not a zed. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,14774.0.html it has the dash.
