djh260 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Hi Guys and Girls!! Another long time "perve" (and now brand new member) of this site, have recently been lucky enough to purchase locally (Gold Coast) a 1976 260Z 2 seater (it made your Cars for Sale section at the time…). Is a nice runner but the paint job isn't great (and I don't want it to get rusty) and the interior is, hmmmm, the only way I can describe it is BROWN!! Not to my taste but very 70's so everyone who has seen it assures me….. Love reading about your builds, while I don't have to skills (today) to do what a lot of you do, it is incredibly motivating to see and read what is possible. Not sure about long term plans for her, isn't strictly original (was a bronze auto, now a red manual), 240Z round tops, but is matching numbers engine / chassis, so I'm not sure I want to mess with this one too badly. Maybe down the track a nice rorty triple carb L28 build, but until then…. Just enjoy the driving!! And maybe keep an eye out for more of a project type build…. Will ad some pics when I have some nice ones (Haha, has there ever been a not nice pic of Z Car??), look forward to chatting / meeting / picking the great minds that inhabit this community… And to continue laughing at the brutal honesty of a majority of the responses (and while I'm sure at some stage I will be on the receiving end), it is refreshing to see (and hopefully become part of) a group of people who so willingly share knowledge and experience and passion…. Mike260LW Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Welcome David. Good to see another Queenslander on board! There seems to be a bit of a stronghold of Zeds down the coast these days. You should think about joining the Z Car Cub Q too. Quote

Welcome, David. Sadly some people sometimes mistaken this honesty for criticism, but it's just that some of us have been there and done that and know better, but sometimes others need to try and find out for themselves I think. Anyway be sure to share your project with it's reassuringly brown interior. Quote
