  1. I went with the 1TB to be on the safe side, but I am only really using it for this game so I am not too worried about filling it up. I got mine as a bundle with Forza Horizon and Hot Wheels. I have found having the other game useful as I have found that Project Cars has had a couple of glitches and by loads by the other game and going back to PC2 it has got it going again.
  2. I have similar on my 911. I did think of making some, but I wanted to get it as straight as I could while it was bare. I have one more thing to try with the bonnet. After some suggestionsI am going to cut the bracing in the front and then try to straighten it out and weld it up again. I have nothing to lose, because if it doesn't work the bonnet is scrap anyway. I just hate giving up so much!!!
  3. haha, that time it worked!
  4. I don't put it in URL tags. It is weird. I do it the same way every week and sometimes it brings up the thumbnail, and sometimes it doesn't. I can't work it out?
  5. I think I have decided I will keep the bumper, but I will weld it up as one piece and see if I can make is sit a bit tighter to the body.
  6. Look at Jeff43's settings earlier in this thread. You have to do a fair bit of playing around to get it nice. Out of the box the rear brake bias is crazy and they lock up every time.
  7. I went the Xbox One S, as the X is double the price and at least as far as I know, it works for all of the current games.
  8. This week I finally finish the roll cage. I also start aligning all of the panels on the Z getting it ready for paint.
  9. I used a similar tool to do the lines on my 911, but it was old and I got some looking good, but others didn't come out as nice as I like. For lubricant though, I found just dipping the line in a little cap of brake fluid worked well.
  10. My wheel set up, is a Thrustmaster TMX Pro which cost me about $360 from memory, and from the reviews I saw, it is comparable with the Logitech equivalent. It has the benefit of having a clutch pedal as well, which a lot don't have, and you can add the cool gated shifter to it later if you choose. I am gradually getting used to treating it more like I am driving a real car. My best times so far are around 2.35, but there is a lot more left in it. @jeff43 I have searched for the 'ghost' functionbut I can't find it? How do I turn it on, as I think that will be super handy to work out which line is faster?
  11. I am back into the roll cage this week and I finally get it all together.
  12. I am only building a half cage, and it is bolt in, so I can get the car registered and bolt it in later if I choose Just finished tacking the whole thing together today, so the episode will be up Saturday morning when I get home from work
  13. The big issue I have found, is if you mount the main hoop on the floor, and keep the lean rearwards to less than 10 degrees, you can't fit a large driver. There just isn't the room. You can get a bit more if you notch into the wheel arches, bit it is a very tight fit. Interestingly, the 911 is a smaller car, but there is heaps more room for the cage.
  14. I just went through this same situation. I found unless you have a powerful PC capable of running the game, the cheapest easiest method I could find was getting a xBox one, or Playstation and a wheel set up. I went for the Thrustmaster TMX Pro which from my research is a reasonable wheel. Not the cheapest, but not the craziest. Not that cheap to get into if you don't have anything to start with. I am not a gamer so I had to start from scratch.
  15. You can also go the DIY route like I have if you are so inclined.
  16. Happy New year guys. I have finally got stuck back into the Z. Continuing to work on the roll cage this week.
  17. My seat set up was super quick using scraps I had lying around. Works great. I had a weird issue the other day, where the wheel dropped out in the middle of a race, but after loading it on another game it worked on PC2 again. I am still working on looking at it like a real car. I get in video game mode and drive too hard. I have never had a gaming system before (well not since the Atari 2600 A’s a kid) so my experience is from using mates ones a few times. I am enjoying the process though.

  19. I think Gee-off's would be a minority here, I would tread lightly Happy New Year, to all.
  20. We may have been a bit distracted, but doesn't sound anything like what is going on in the back of your shed! I have also been known to have plenty of 'Jeff moments'
  21. ...and my bloody brand new wheel has stopped working!!!!!
  22. Still getting the hang of it, but changing some of those settings has made a world of difference. 70/30 brake bias, and 3.7 diff ratios are about all I have done for now, but I am getting there. I built a super simple Rig, and of course I made a video of it
  23. I just built my sim racing rig today, and finally got to have a go. I haven't got any aids on and I am yet to get a complete lap. I am still getting used to the whole thing (I have never actually owned a PS or Xbox before). I have started changing the brake bias, as the rear were locking up like crazy and if I was even slightly off of dead straight when braking I would spin. I think I have a lot more practice to do
  24. I am going to get into the shed in a minute and build a simulation rig P.S. There is an overload of Jeff's around here
  25. I also got an Xbox and a Thrustmaster set up for Christmas (but still waiting for it to arrive in the mail). Then I will be trying to get into the mix as well. If I don't have any running real cars, I can at least drive some simulated ones
