Yeah. I keep working on mine and it is getting better, but it is still far from what I will be happy with. I have a feeling that I will still have to buy a repro one

I am planning on keeping the original wheel arches to stay with the car, so it can be returned to original if a future owner chooses. The benefit of having my own booth, is that I can work at my own pace, and paint every step. I would be back and forth to a booth a heap of times for epoxy, then high fill, then colour and clear, then possibly flow coat and then any other separate parts like the cage, bumpers flares, etc. So it would not be worth while. This booth was cheap and it works great. I am starting to film a new series on how to paint a car, so I will hopefully cover all that stuff. The mask is from Sundstrom and it has 3 levels of filters in it. It is what professional spray painters use.

This is kind of what I was thinking. I am still thinking I may order a few more strips in warm as more is better and it may balance it out a bit more.

This week's adventure was finishing up the booth lighting. I then moved on to rust treating the whole car and painting the epoxy primer.

I have just finished putting up the LED strips. They are OK, probably similar to the Fluoro's I had before, but it is hard to quantify. They should be about double the lumens of the previous fluoro's. They should do the job, but when it comes to booths, the more light the better.

Also I am not really a fan of the G nose, I love the sharp cut off original shape. So I am not keen to buy and import a G nose just to see how straight my bonnet is.

That would be a good test if someone has a G nose I can borrow to test it. Although, that is also if the G nose is not too warped, which would be tuff to ensure with any fibreglass part.

I went through the grommet thing with the 911. Porsche parts are even more crazy than Z parts so if there is an alternative, I am there. In this case you get a whole box of grommets, for probably what a single factory one will cost.

Yep. I don't like the holes either. I may try to make a cover for them out of sheet metal. I would love the copy mirrors, but $700 is insanity for them. I will see what I can come up with

I should do that. I really need to see how mine is, as I still think it curves down too much.

This week I manage to do some home built frame pulling and then I rebuild the spray booth.

That is something I haven't thought about but you are right. I have had mine for probably 3 years now, and although I don't use it all the time, the battery has never even entered my mind. I am not even sure if I can change mine, although I should change the glass as it is getting messy. I think if you get 7 years, it has well and truly paid for itself

If you are going to be in the area in your Z, let me know, as I would like to have a look at your front end to compare to my mess.

I found the best way to get grommets is just to buy a kit like this on ebay. That looks like a decent one to me. I have a basic one I bought at a welding shop, and I think most of the auto ones are pretty good for home use.

This week I get stuck back into repairing the bonnet and then spend a heap of time trying to get the front bar lined up.

Definitely need a steering wheel. I also see where my issue with finding the ghost came from. I can't access the Time Trial section of the game with out paying a monthly subscription to Xbox Gold, which sucks ass! I suppose I will just have to get better in Free Practice and take screen shots of my lap times as I don't really want to pay a subscription just for that.

Yes it was a pain to get it going. Even though I had the game disc, it still required a massive download before I could use it. PITA! I must be a moron, as I still can't find it (spent about 30 mins going through all the menus). You are doing Free Practice right? I also can't seem to get it to keep my lap times. As soon as I exit the track the top time is not saved. I really have no idea what I am doing. I also have still not managed to string a better lap together than a 2.35. I can do some sectors a couple of seconds faster, than the next, but then stuff it up later. Basically I need a lot more practice

Still looking for the 'ghost' function? Can anyone tell me how to turn it on?

I went with the 1TB to be on the safe side, but I am only really using it for this game so I am not too worried about filling it up. I got mine as a bundle with Forza Horizon and Hot Wheels. I have found having the other game useful as I have found that Project Cars has had a couple of glitches and by loads by the other game and going back to PC2 it has got it going again.
