He might be the type that goes to Supercheap, buys 10kg of bog, 3 cans of spray paint, 1 air freshener tree, 1 dancing Elvis and a fully sick stereo and slap it all in for a ‘job done’. $150 Rebuild. I mean it is not his fault that I spend the better part of my midlife crisis just getting the doors to close nicely.

Hi Guys, What are the differences in the L28 engine from a Zed and a Patrol? I have done some Dr Googleing but only found some abstract stuff. Cheers Cliff

Yes, I have no doubt there will be fun under the paint for whomever. I have not really done anything with this car since I purchased it other than put it in the back of my garage. Even my so called "good" 240 had some issues found in the blasting space but we have just been slowly actioning. I am in no rush to sell this one but would sell it if someone where interested etc. Just not sure what the best way of selling them is as I don't want 200 dreamers that come around saying "gee, lots of work there" - I already know this (as does any Datsun guy). Hi Guys, Hoping you guys can help me understand what she might be worth. Thinking of selling one of my 240z cars as I have many projects on the go. That said, I don’t care if she sits in my back garage for years. It’s a 73, auto, sunroof. It has a L24 in it but not matching numbers. I have had her running but it would need some love (there is no chance of a can of ‘start ya’ bastard’ and a new set of points making it a reliable engine). Needs body work, interior, blah blah – it is a rebuild. I could give a nice sounding L26 with the sale but – whatever! As you see from the pics, it is not complete but I probably have most of it although, for valuation purposes, please assume my spares are crap. What you think? Cheers Cliff

Hi Groundhog. If I had the matching engine I would be building stock but unfortunately it had a L26 in it. I will give that the flick and put a L28 in. I looked at a few options including V8 but when I spoke to the engineer and found out what I could and could not do I though it would be a waste of time. I have a 54 block that I intended on rebuilding and playing with but work is so busy right now I am better of buying something or getting someone to do it. I really wanted to do it myself but life is like a box of........ It is more expensive but I will sell my other 240 to make me feel less sad about it

Dipping my toe in the water although I am ready to buy. I am looking for a L28 for my 240. I am looking for something complete, rebuilt and ready to roll. If you have something that might be of interest please PM me. I am in no rush but am ready to roll on the right thing whenever. I know everyone will say what is your budget, but that will be set by the deal itself. I had planned on doing the build myself but I am just too busy and want to keep my 240 rebuild moving along. Can anyone recommend someone to do bodywork on my 240? I live in SEQ. Car stripped to nothing and some work done but my work has me busier than a wall builder in southern America. Want someone honest that does good work and not make me touch my toes everyday. Thanks in advance.

About a month ago I thought I would be a good husband and put the washing on early one morning whilst the wife was sleeping. Only issue was that I forgot to remove my phone from my jeans and it was on 'spin' when i realised it was still in my jeans from last night - DOH!. Phone was FUBARed Anyway, I was talking to a few of you regarding parts etc but your contacts etc also went with the wash. The phone guru at the Telstra shop (more nose rings that a heard of cows) can't get my old contacts because I had not backed up my phone or something. Thanks Peter, Yeah I probably should. I am just not in a rush (as I am still cutting rust city) but have had an eye out for about 9 months - obviously in the wrong place. I have an f54 short motor but the previous owner had it out in the weather so ideally looking for either a runner (carb) or long motor. Cheers Cliff
