Car has developed what I think is an ignition issue. When cold tacho fluctuates wildly when backing off throttle. On throttle revs as usual. After around 10 mins of driving settles to normal.
280zx dizzy, electronic ignition, Bosch coil. Recently replaced alternator with new one with no external regulator. Alternator doesn't start charging before about 1500 rpm. The tacho / suspected ignition problem did not occur until around a year of almost daily driving after the alternator replacement.
Any thoughts gurus?
Have you crawled under and checked the vent hose? I have a similar issue, if I fill the tank totally it leaks slightly at the vent hose.I'll replace it as per recent posts. Enthusiastic driving may be sloshing the fuel around.
Hi Moggie,
I'd be keen to hear what economy you are getting. I've got triple 45's on a stock L28, got 11l/100 k on a long road trip. But round town using 17.5. Just interested to hear as webers often get a bad wrap in this regard, but with such adjustabilty you'd think a compromise would be possible.

Reply,
Thanks Agno, what ever - just did not want to get there with my mate from Ballarat and have issues getting in, he'd be well annoyed.
See you there - Gordo, did you want to meet at super cheap L'dale like last time? Its right on our way.
HI Mossy,
what is the internal height of the filter? I'll measure my trumpets to see if they'll fit inside. I'm keen if they'll clear.
Why did you change your mind on this?
Cheers
Hi Agno,
I booked two of us in, there was no prompt for payment , I guess we pay at the gate then?
(just a bit confused given Lightmaster's comment saying he's paid up)
Cheers
Hi all,
I am looking for a working brake booster, mine has a major leak.
I am in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Picture attached of the current one, not sure if it original to my car, which is a 73 240.
Cheers
