Hi Guys, Sorry! should probably updated this sooner! Brabham has helped me cut this up over the last couple of weeks and we have split the parts up, I've only taken the roof (as that's all i really bought it for).. and i also took another smaller panel. Alex has the remaining shell and might be happy to part out if you asked him nicely? I'm always keeping an eye out for another shell cause i need a good rear cut. - Obviously they don't come up often but if i catch wind of something, i'll post it up. Yes this was George's, he took quite a bit of the shell/skin before i got it, the only real good part was the roof. - And yes, his car is a piece of art! He had a few parts he was trying to unload on me, he might still have? not sure if he's active on this forum much? Nice bloke though!

So i took the trip to my hardware store today and picked up an impact socket. I found one that was a comfortable fit and needed no modification. And.... It worked a treat! I used a breaker bar for extra leverage. They were still pretty hard to crack as they had some kind of thread lock. Mission Accomplished!

Just weighing up some options at the moment. i purchased an L28 engine and turns out the block is cracked, i prefer something decent i want do stroker ideally.

Thanks Chaps! I will give the hex socket a go, if i need to grind it down (by the sounds i will) then so be it - I will also try placing some piping over it and try loosening it for extra help. I will try this over the weekend and give some feedback for future reference. - Scotty Rah

I will try the impact socket. I'm not sure if it'll fit between the bolt and the castings edge (as shown below) i think i might still face the same problem perhaps.. its as if when the casting was made, when these bolts were put in it was done with a special tool or by machine. i'm sure others have had the same issue at some stage? I have started tearing down my E88 head in order to have is reconditioned and rebuilt. I have taken pretty much all part off it, but have hit a snag on trying to remove the bolts that house the rocker arm stud. some of them have come out reasonably easy but there are some that are proving more difficult due to the socket not being able to fit properly over the entire hex of the bolt, due to not being enough clearance between the bolt and the space between the head - hard to explain but see photos below of what i mean..

So in an effort to claim back space in my garage, I want to start cutting up the donor Zed. I had aquired this car mostly for the roof and a few other patches of skin. The car was hit from the rear and the front but a lot of the car has useable panels. I don't think I'll be using all of it so I'd like to get rid of anything useful to other people and also see if there are any EOI on any of it. The previous owner took the floor, both rocker panels and cut up the rear tail panel and both ends of each quarter panels. Still has wheel arches, firewall, engine bay rails, spare wheel well, bent up front end(not too bad) I will post photos when I get on my PC. As I've never cut up a car before I was wondering if there was someone in Sydney that might want to help in exchange for panels/skin - negotiable I don't want to make the mistake of cutting through a useful panel just because I got carried away with a grinder. I can email photos of the car if any one is keen.

Hi Fellas I think i found a solution to the 15amp - 10amp stepdown problem.. Whilst browsing bunnings looking to 'modify' an extension cord, I came across this - It's called Ampfibian. It has a Female 15amp socket with an inline circuit breaker to 10amp male plug. the circuit breaker is set to switch at 10.01 amps for when you may overload. this saves you from possible melted wiring and/or fires. It's the legal way to do it and only $98 from Bunnings.. A good investment for people on the go.. Sh*t.. I sound like I'm a salesman.. ​

'Bout time I updated my story.. This week I purchased a donor car for my restoration. The previous owner has taken the floor/sills and most of the rear. the car was involve in an accident and the front and rear were banged up.. I mainly wanted the car for the roof turret and will most likely make good use of more of it. Anything I don't use, I will post on here in the 'Parts and Tool's' classifieds. After getting the car to NSW form WA 6 or so months ago, I've put in some hours stripping the car of parts and discovering more little surprises. The car is going to need a lot of work, some of which I think will require a professional panel beater, so I'm on the hunt for good reputable beater in the Sydney area, preferably the western suburbs but that's not important too much. If anyone can recommend someone I'd greatly appreciate it I've attached some photos of the new addition to the project.
