  1. As the title says I am chasing a couple bits for the 240. 260Z 71B Manual Gearbox Bellhousing (Happy to purchase a complete box if needs be, can be busted) RB20DET (R32 turbo Skyline) 5-speed gearbox.
  2. Hey guys, Been ages since I have posted anything, basically had to buy my partner out of the car so it's been mostly sitting around. Went out a couple times but I am waiting on my cage guy to be ready for the car to come in. Since the last post I had to do quite a few things. Had to have the car wiring fixed up, the tuner wasnt to impressed with my backyard guy haha. The Car made 170rwhp and 280ft-lbs of torque Snapped a few weld on the exhaust at Lakeside so had to get that re welded, no major. Also while at Lakeside we found a fuel surge problem, new 044 pump and 2L pot fixed all that. I also managed to kill the gearbox a few weeks ago at the Norwell Performance Driving Centre, it was a Hardtuned day. A few pics below. The car will be getting an RB20DET Gearbox setup which I need to start organising this week. Plan is to run a Navara Input Shaft 1.409 ratio I believe and also try to get my hands on a 5th gear cog from a vl-5 speed box in attempts to get the ratios as close as I can without paying the big dollars for the gear sets. This will mean a new tail shaft but that's easy. That's it for now, will keep the thread up to date with the coming upgrades
  3. Doubt he'd let it go for anything less then your first born.. lol
  4. Yeah shouldn't be a problem seeing as we are all club members. I managed to kill my box the other week at Norwell so Im in the process of grabbing a 32 box for the 240, once its all in I will book in and see if you guys are still keen.
  5. Yeah he mentioned you caught up. Shame about the engine, rebuild time? Good on her for getting out there, Lakeside was my first track too it is daunting haha Dusty and I are planning on being out there on the 11th of May, will keep you updated. Would be nice to see a couple other Zs and even a Hyrundai
  6. Have only taken the car out 3 times. 165hp on rsr semi's. Plenty of room for improvement. Lakeside - 64.79 (with macleans reg traffic with fuel surge) QR, Clubman - 64.98 (no excuse, i was just crap) Norwell - 63.6 (semi wet) James
  7. Goodluck Aub, Tommy will be up there in the black 34, go say Hi. I'm working so wont be making it.
  8. Welcome mate, Im glad people are picking up the 280's, wish I never sold my old one. They look like the Techno Toy kit?
  9. PM'd. I know a cheap solid mobile Sparky that did my car if you cant be bothered doing it yourself.
  10. Yeah Nev and his brother were running. I went and said hi but don't really know the guy. I more wanted to check out his splitter. He was running 65.5s on clubman, he should be quick but due to the night everyone was a little off their usual pace. I'd do the 6th of March but I am doing a Norwell run with Hardtuned on the 3rd, which should be exciting.
  11. Yeah I'm going to rig up some headlights before next round which is April 17th. Midweek sprints seem to be the way to go, I'd say I will do Lakeside during the day then trek over to QR for night. It's also cheaper at $135 per event, so for $270 you can run two tracks in a day which is around 8x5 lap runs. Also what do you need a hand with specifically? I'm really good at handing tools, questioning your ability's and drinking. If you need any of that hola at me
  12. It's usually a decent turn out, I didnt go last year but their were quite a few Z's the year before.
  13. So QR had their first mid week night open sprints last night at Ipswich. I went up to help a mate out in his Skyline so thought I'd give you some feedback incase you were considering doing it. I personally didn't run as the Z doesn't even have headlights hehe The track itself is barely lit up, they have the lights turned on but essentially they are only a street light on the track. It was hard to see your breaking points and markers were hard to pick out. Most of the guys said it was like driving slightly blind and corners were coming up very quick due to poor lighting. For the same reason finding apex's were slightly difficult. Most of the field consisted of guys in their wife's cars but overall even with poor lighting everyone seemed to enjoy the night play. There were definitely a lot of Fast n Furious quotes getting thrown around lol QR have said their are more lights to go in, hopefully they focus mainly on each entry and exit of the corners plus some reflective markers.
  14. I'll be missing it again this year, work commitments and all.

    Floods!!!!!!

Came through unscathed, choice of suburb helped 'highland park'. Glad everyone's alright
  16. I ended up getting getting an 2009 FG XR8 6p auto, picked it up for 25k with 35k on the clock. Already had the tow gear plus every option ford had to offer. I'm 6ft 3 and 130kg and its like being in a sedan, couldn't be happier. It gets 9.1lts/100 on the highway and I average 13 around town with my seriously heavy foot. It managed 19ltrs/100 to QR and back on the weekend and that was fully loaded with a full tank of fuel, 240z, hire trailer (800kg) 120lts of spare fuel, tools jack etc and I was sitting on 120-130k's all the way there. To be honest, after a day of racing the last thing you want to do is get in some pig of a car to then drive home.
  17. This is a common occurrence with the wilwood setup from AZC. Even when running a bias with all fronts and zero back you will still find a problem. A lot of the guys up here have ended up running a 1" cylinder and smaller rear pads so you can still have some adjustment with the bias.
  18. Well the dates locked in, I'm happy to drive to wherever. I dont know the area at all up there so you lot will have to pick it, happy to meet up along the way.
  19. Should we just lock down a date to begin with? I'm happy with the 1st & 2nd of December, with preference for the 2nd.
  20. I'm always up for a drink, you know me.. Peter's was good last year, I'd be happy for a similar or same deal. I would have to talk about it with the Room mate but I might consider hosting down at Highland Park on the Gold Coast. Pour out the idea's James
  21. oh man.. quick its not to late! renege, renege! lol
  22. Great mod, someone will have a lot of live up to. As Jason and Matt pointed out, there are cages to do! hehe
  23. See you on the 10th of Nov then?
  24. An average S30 would be around the 65's dependent on driver. The more serious punters are down around 61-62s. The quick guys are around 59-60s. (260det is one of them )
