  1. Owned a '79 280ZX 2+2 for about 6 months for the track, only actually used it for 2 months before buying a '71 240Z bare shell which I have owned for 10 months and will be on the track next month. So essentially, I'm a freshman
  2. What Dat2kman said, we did all these on the 240 recently. We used the longer studs and we'll just cut them down. 3. Yeah, it's called the QLD Z Car Club Gazebo..
  4. Count us in Dave, we'll put the 240 and the 370 next to each other
  5. I'd just rather throw money at you Lurch
  6. hehe, we'll have to see how it performs on the 18th, maybe you and Richard could come? Think Dusty was going to attempt at making it in the 260 as well.
  7. I need to throw a cage in mine as well, up for a holiday then Lurch? haha
  8. Sure is, well the shell anyway.. heh
  9. Hey guys, So it's been a while but we finally got the car close enough to finished to take it for a few spins around the block. Still a few teething problems, suspension still isn't set up correctly, tune isnt done properly yet and the clutch is slipping which I think has something to do with the dodgy slave set up You can see a couple vids below of it if you like. It was just around our block, nothing special.. but just had to drive it Also for shits and giggles I had another team mate brings his 370Z daily around so we could get a few pics of what nearly 40years difference is.. see below. Our first official track day should be on the 18th of February at Lakeside, funds providing. So stay tuned! -James
  10. Cheers for the input fellas, I've got the answers I needed. Essentially, I'm towing the car once a month so for the rest of the time I want something comfy and quickish.. Fuel consumption isn't too concerning when it's a couple of litre's difference per 100ks -James
  11. Might throw the 240 on the trailer and drag it up. Should be a good night. -James
  12. Cool Matt, I'll have to come have a look see! To be honest I'm not a fan of either of those utes and price range comes into play. LOL Rob, I'd terrorise the crap out of the Gold Coast in that thing
  13. great, cheers fellas. Only towing it will do is once a month from Coomera to Lakeside (an hour highway run). I'm happy with the fuel consumption, works 10mins away. Thanks again for the Info. P.S Matt did you get your S15?
  14. Thanks for the info so far guys, its appreciated. Matt, I wasn't sure if yours was the XR8 or not but definitely good to know you've been doing it. I specifically looking at a 2006 BF XR8 mk2 auto (zf box) but there were so many conflicting storys and supposedly Ford advised about heat when towing.. Is yours a manual or auto? If auto are you running an aftermarket trans cooler? Also hows the squat? I was thinking of getting some air bags for the rear. I probably should of just called you James
  15. Hey guys, Looking at grabbing a tow car that can double as my daily driver. Personally I'd like to grab an Ford BF XR8 (auto for towing ) but there's a bit of speculation about there actual rated capacity. Anyone here using one that could shed some better light? The 240+ Trailer comes in at about 1500kg which is cutting it close to the 1600kg rating without the 2300kg package. -James
  16. Sweet another Gold Coaster, sure is a few of us now. Welcome to the boards and good luck with the build mate, be sure to yell out if you need a hand with anything. James
  17. Was a good day for sure and the weather held out just long enough to get a feed and nail a few jacks. Cheers for the organising and hospitality! I look forward to more of these in 2012. James (370Z shotgun rider)
  18. shhh!

  22. Sorry for the derail.. but we could have a BBQ as were close enough to each other. Happy to have it at mine (right by the Lost City) as our car is not legally allowed on the road I didn't get to get up for AGM, who's the Social whore now that Gollys El Presidente? -James
