  1. Thanks for putting up the photos Sean.hope all the boys had some fun at the awesome PI track. Some of the guys had a few mechanical wows, hopefully they can be repaired quickly . And Jason your car is in good hands at Les and Peters. Cheers.
  2. You should talk to zed240au, Mighty Mick is in Devonport and has an ls1 in his zed, might be able to help you out. Cheers.
  3. +1 for the welder, you will learn heaps and can take pride in saying you did it your self. The money saved on paying some one else, and inconvenience of taking it somewhere to get fixed is a pain in the ass. Every zed sold should come with a welder!!!
  4. Welcome to the zed forum. I always go shopping for Zeds with a fridge magnet, and go over the hole car. If it don't stick, it got bog! Good Luck, there seems to be a few Zeds on the market ATM. Chose wisely , as cheap can soon turn into a money pit.
  5. Yes I remember that. I think it was in the USA.
  6. Are you driving around. Or flying in and staying somewhere? If you are driving around be sure to drop in on Mighty Mick in Devonport .
  7. Peter the stuff you and Les are doing with the L series is awesome . Braking new ground with all the mods. Look forward to updates on this engine.
  8. Welcome to the forum Manny.the two plus two looks really good. Reminds me of my first zed I bought in 1982. I think it's a great example of an original zed. And the price is right. You would have to go a long way to find something better. And it would have been modified in some way. So yes make him an offer but don't let it get away. There are a few guys on the forum from Perth, they may be able to have alook for you . Cheers.
  9. Hey Timmy, I wouldn't get them polished un less you have some one interested in them. Or are you keeping them for your self. The 260z wheels are all most a give away, but $100 to $150 is asked for them. So the 280 zx wheels would about the same. You will only get what someone is willing to pay. Most of the zed guys buy other rims. But the Datto 1600 guys use them. Cheers, and welcome to the forum.

Thanks Peter , not sure I was the fastest tin top, but the car was running great. And Simon I have done a 1.49 in the GTR . The biggest problem with theGTR is the weight and is hard to carry mid corner speed, so suspension set up and good tires are a must. I love my two cars equally , but the zed gives you that seat of the pants kind of feel. Real reward for hard driving.

Hi Guys , had a great day out at the Island on Sunday . The weather was fine and sunny.Steve was there.(chev zed) Peter Mc and my brother Craig.(620z) The first run the track was a bit damp from over night rain. And a bit of oil over Lukey heights always makes for a bit of fun. The Porsche GT3 behind me could not keep up and drifted back. Even though the track was not at it's best. Second run was better, starting behind the GT3 and was all over him on the second lap through turn one. The car in front of him was going at a good speed but still holding us up. Going into Honda I could have done the big dive and got both of them, but it seemed the safest thing to do was sit tight for the moment. Was kicking myself though because I would have made the pass as it turned out. They had to much power for me up Siberia although I was still there. At Lukey there was oil just on the outside line right from the bottom to the top so I wanted to make a pass befor then other wise it would be hard. So I closed the gap on the GT3 who was up the ass of the open wheeler and fired up the inside of him after the hayshed kink and got beside him so I had the inside line, then remembering the oil on Lukey heights made a tight run up the ass of the open wheeler followed him to the crest of the hill and shot out and dived inside him, had the line at MG and power slide out of the corner and put some distance on them befor the main straight. Was awesome fun, had the biggest smile on my face. Funniest thing was the GT3 owner did the walk around my car when I was checking the tire pressure. He looked it over a few times and didn't say anything . It was like WTF is in this thing. I would have said its got a PMC motor, but he would understand ! So thanks to Peter and Les I'm back on the pace again. And that was just one lap. Cheers.

Hi Terry, I see you joined up in 2009 and only three posts, must be some kind of a record. Where are you from, some one might be able to help you if you are close buy. And what kind of zed do you have ? Cheers.
  13. Shaz wants to have a happy Easter, and not worry about a house full of car Hoons.
  14. Any one fell the ground shake tonight at 7.15 pm tonight?
  15. Hi Scott, I am down at PI on Saturday ,what is the address of this place ,could check it out tomorrow for you Guys. Have a look see . Cheers.
  16. I think you guys should just have a race already ,and get it over and done with. But I must say I love both sides of the story. I have a quick R32 GTR and track 240z, very close to call it one way or the other, depends on track selection etc. I hope this will lead to more challengers like this, it's good fun and gets everyone involved. Good luck to you guys and may the best car win. PS if I took both my cars to the track it would be the GTR buy one or two seconds.
  17. If he is a carb specialist he should no. I wonder what an engine specialist would say to that. I guess if it is stock there might be something in that. But as a racing motor would have more compression the higher octane the better. Interested to see what the other guys say.

Weather is looking good guys, Ash did you end up putting a entry in? They will email the list to all entrants soon so will have a look to see who has entered. Craig has organized a cruse for Sunday going to the Island if anyone is interested see on other thread. Cheers.
  19. You need a properly set up track car(zed) to beat a stock GTR, if he knows how to drive.
  20. Hwy don't you ask him to take you for a spin in his GTR, then you will know what your up against. As he might go the good tires and brakes also. You may have bitten off more than you can chew, if you no what I mean.
  21. You can't blame the speedo for everything !
  22. Yer put a towbar on the BMW and you still only need tow cars, if you guys need any help this end let me know. I guess the main thing is to try and find good accomadation, all the hotels and motels will be busy and parking becomes a problem. If as you say a few of the Tassie boys come try and book a house so you can park your car and trailer of road. For a house at the Island it would be around$1200 bottom end to $1800 shared between three or four couples would be cheaper than hotel. Cheers Gordon.
  23. Are you sure Simon. You don't go to PI ,so 180 kmh should be enough for you. lol. You could see that coming a mile away.hahaha.
  24. Hellow there, when I click on the car sales link, it is the members page, it appears as if you have to join up to view the photos ? Can this be changed?
