  2. I see this car is still listed in the trading post. I was interested until I found this page looks like a hell of a lot of rust and chassis rail damage ! May be all I can get for the bucks. I'm a bit confused where these pics came from.
  3. Is that Gasless ?
  4. Hey Gav I can't get it to work. I am on a mac. I have tried Firefox and Safari. Maybe i'm out of luck.
  5. Hey Lurch I am hoping to have a Z in a couple of months I would love to come but would hate to take the spot of somebody already in the throws of repairing. If this is not a problem let me know. Can you tell me what area you are in roughly. Thanks Matt
  6. Yep the big 40 for me November 9th I think me buying a Z is my mid life crises
  7. Can I just ask what is Free Air is that oil free?
  8. Sorry only new. Jag Club?
  9. http://mick-curson.blogspot.com/ I think these are the guys. Very interesting!
  10. Yeah I kind get that. I figuring if you are going to take it on its all pretty bad. Just thought they may be spots that don't make it worth repairing. But I guess you don't get much worse than floor pans and the seem to get fixed all the time.
  11. Hey guys I was wondering if you could tell me from experience what rust is a total nightmare to fix. I am willing to to cut and weld panels and even chassis rails at a pinch. But if I am looking out for a car is there any thing that I should avoid at all costs. Thanks guys.
  12. Man I love those rims
  13. Well Done Alien. I am a couple of months behind you. I would have loved to have got that one but I am still getting funds together. The search goes on.
  14. I should of known better . Asking a guy how big is his shed, Is like asking how hot his girlfriend is. Everyone wants to brag. I am green with envy. I was hoping I would get a bunch of guys saying the had smallish garages but they coped ok with it. Here I am with my pissy 7x4 shed that the floor even runs down hill wondering if I might be struggling. Mind you, The Rev sounds like he kinda made do Well I will only know when the time comes I guess.
  15. I'm getting depressed :'(
  16. Maybe I should be restoring a Mini
  17. Wow I was about to say i don't think i have enough space then I read this. I guess I will have to do with the space I have. I just hope it works for me. I don't like my chances of any rotisserie work being done.
  18. Hey guys I was just wondering what the average size shed you guys have and have managed to restore your Z's. I have just spent the weekend finding mine. After a couple of years renovating the house it had a lot of crap in it. I have about 7 x 4 m workable space I'm hoping that gives me enough room. There is always the driveway. Just interested on your thought. One day i may even have a car to put in it. Thanks Matt
  19. Thanks guys that is great advice. I am looking for a long term project not something that is finished in a year.. I may have to spend a bit more than I first planed. It just means it will be longer before I get started. I will have save a few more pennies first. Maybe Lurch you can hang onto you car for me for six months "yeah right". That give me pleanty of time to do my research and get the garage ready..
  20. Yeah I'm sure everyone starts by saying that. Just not sure I can spend $6000 straight up. I know it probably sound like false economy. I think if I send that it will be 12 months before I can spend anymore and that would be a bit dull. It is early days I will see were the path leads.
  21. That would be a great start. But I think I need to start with one a bit cheaper. It will be easier to get it past SWMBA. i need to star scrounging my money together to work out how much I can really spend.
  22. Ok I have ordered "How to restore your Datsun Z" Now I just need to keep an eye out for a car and read lots of posts. I was hoping to pick up a tired on for a couple of grand and strip it back to metal. I hope they are still around for that much
  23. Thanks Fu A step in the right direction
