  1. I had a very productive day today. I managed t get the roof skin of my car and remove the paint of the rear quarter. At least now I can see what stat the guard is in. Not so good, but I knew that. I think I will repair sections of the guard rather than attempting to replace the entire thing. Much of a muchness I think. Here is some Video.http://gallery.me.com/bigfellas#100155
  2. well done mate. welcome to the 2+2 bus club
  3. I am a bit worried about cutting my car as think this is a major structural part and the car may twist or something worse!
  4. I was going to have a crack at removing the rear quarter of the parts car today. It appears that this panel may not be the original on the car. Where there should be spot weld the appears to be puddle welds. I'm not sure how to go about removing them. I was thinking about removing the entire quarter including the hatch frame you know the bit that the panel is attached to. The one in my car is not so good. My only concern is that I am guessing that this is a major structural part of the car. I am not sure if it is a good idea to cut and remove it, not to mention there will be some interesting welds. What do you Zedafiles think?
  5. Well today I had a crack at pulling the roof skin of the parts car. Man a lot of drilling. Came of not to bad bit hard around the corners where it joins. I will have to be much more careful on my car it is going to be harder to get it of without damaging the car underneath. The donor car had a fair bit of rust under the skin but the skin survived ok my need a couple of repairs. I hope my car is OK under the skin.
  6. they are so shinny. It herts my eyes
  7. Yeah I would be interested in finding out. I have a lot of spot weld removal to be done.
  8. Thanks I think I will see how long I can make these last and then buy a solid one.
  9. The old type being the solid ones?
  10. I was having a play at removing a few spot welds from my donor car today. I bought a couple of theses http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280518601962&ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:AU:1123. I was wondering if many people have had success with these? I started of with just centre punching then trying the cutter but wandered every where. I then found that if I drill a small pilot hole it would work. But then I am going all the way through with the small hole so kind of defeats the purpose of the cutter. Not only that but I have already broken the teeth of 1 and !/2 bits and I have only done four holes. Are there better ones around? or should I go for a solid one? I know you got one the other day Lurch. What did you get? Cheers Matt
  11. I love that. Quote of the year!
  12. Well I guess I own to Zeds now. well one and a half. http://gallery.me.com/bigfellas/100147 I picked up half a car today to fix my roof and rear quarter. Thanks to Lurch and his dad for all the help today.

  14. I will have a look on the weekend. But i think there is only 1
  15. I have taken Lurch's lead and linked it in my signature. Hopefully others will follow.
  16. Is there an easy way to find a Members Journal. A lot of the time people will say in a thread check out my journal for details of such and such and then I have to search through the journals to find that user. Can we have a way to maybe link our build Journals to our profile. Thanks
  17. I like it, all you need is someone on the roof with a whip. very gladiator. Make a time Lurch and I will be there. Thanks
  18. So fare the passengers look A ok. I will dig deeper tomorrow!
  19. This nearly make me forget the bad times
  20. It has been one of those days. You know the ones, when the things you discover aren't to good. I did some serious stripping of the bus today. Only to find some not so nice rust. I already knew there was rust in the rear quarter, but there is also a fair bit in the drivers floor pan. I already have a rear quarter teed up thanks to Lurch and Rev, but know I am looking to replace the drivers floor pan and door sill as well. I need to do some serious assessing and work out whether I should just be looking out for another shell. What are the thoughts of my fellow Zedders. Thanks Matt
  21. I could pick it up on the way to your place. But not sure when that will be and it may be too late.
  22. Oh Rev one week to late.
  23. What did you use to administer it? Just a sand blasting gun.
  24. Yeah they were in the pile. But I am also looking at doing a conversion. Think I will hang onto them. Sorry.
