  1. More info. We will be required at the circuit from Thursday to Sunday, no official timetable out yet. So I've booked in at the Bathurst Explorer's Motel, it is on the Mountain's side of Bathurst and was the lowest priced decent place that I could find.
  2. If I had the garage space it would be mine in a heartbeat at that price. Work on it at my leisure, probably a na LS*, sequential manual or tiptronic auto, body kit, sort the rear suspension out.......
  3. Can't believe that a two seater at this price has no takers I realise that this is predominantly a S30 forum but surely someone is prepared to step out into the dark unknown
  4. Received official acceptance today Couple of S30's coming from WA I believe, anyone from NSW, Vic, SA?
  5. Standard suspension in good condition will be OK for a S130, just need a R200 diff to be sure, suitable tailshaft etc. Lowering it would be good but that will result in too much negative camber at the rear unless some mods are done there. Good spoiler, front splitter, undertray, rear wing or S30 type rear spoiler, rear diffuser. S130 has good basic aero and as set up as above would be fine at 300kph.
  6. 0.597" valve lift is huge, compared with the JWT high lift S2 cams I got for the VG33ET anyway. They give 0.473".
  7. Someone buy this and stick a LS* in it Was looking for one of these five years ago, none around then.
  8. MP sprints have nothing to do with me as a driver because I don't run there but, unlike the armchair critics, I do base my comments on actual observation of what goes on there with the Zeds and their times. Quite a few of the Q Targa blokes do the MP sprints to keep their hand in, want to call them out too? It might be about time that you 'racers' put your cars where your talk is, October supersprint championships open to anyone with a CAMS licence. See you there?
  9. Anyone who thinks that you need to do official racing events to learn 'racecraft' needs to have a look at the Zeds sprinting at Morgan Park, which incidentially is on again this weekend. Some of the best older car dicing I have ever seen has been at MP between Zeds, wheel to wheel stuff at speeds which many older so called race cars could never match, particularly Histronics, errr, Historics
  10. Yeh, pretty good in places. I'd like to see one about hi power Zeds or EVO's beating Porsches, authentic WW2 connextion with Ferdinand who designed some of the German WW2 military hardware.
  11. Maybe gentlemen's 'racing' would not suit my temperament but, and of course it's easy to say, I would hope to have had a go at the Corvette at turn 1 and not just let the Porker pass without a bit of resistance. What is the point of racing if it's just a 'follow the leader' thing? Even in sprints I hate just following someone.
  12. Got an aftermarket ECU? Flat shift option
  13. Good on you for being a pioneer, sequential shift. To die for
  14. Who are the other two Peter? PM if you want.
  15. A nice late model turbo Z31 two seater has potential but most people would not have the patience or money to get one right. Dark colour, wide wheels
  16. Where is that at Jason, Lakeside? I love the 280ZXT, so nice to drive fast, but racing it is out because of the unavailability of replacement panels from the windscreen back. So sprints it is even though a couple of blokes have done their best to dent it anyway. A few of us will be doing the Lakeside midweek sprints next month if you want to join us and do some laps.
  17. Seeing that I'm not a proper racer could someone help and explain the following opening lap things I noticed? Turn 1, no inside pass attempt by the 280Z on the Corvette? What sounded like a big downshift crunch at 1.08? And the open door for the red Porker at that corner?
  18. No pissing contest please, to help the OP to come to his own conclusion this is how I do a heel and toe. Firstly, as all my normal braking is done with the ball of the foot on the pedal that is the sensitive part so that is the part used for a H&T to retain braking sensitivity, no lockups or reduced braking. With that part of the foot located on the brake pedal there is a limited amount of foot movement available to reach the accelerator. The foot can't be moved sideways because that would interfere with braking. What can be done is pivot the foot a bit on it's ball so the heel can reach the accelerator pedal for a quick blip, if it is close enough. It's easy enough to blip the accelerator with the foot still on the brake pedal, the hard part is retain braking efficiency while doing so. Meh to the 'driving instructor' and the other bloke who crunches gear shifts, I'm faster around Lakeside so suck
  19. Hmmmm, real heel and toeing is done by using the left foot to depress the clutch, the right foot to brake and blip the throttle and the left hand to downshift all at the same time. To do this the right foot has to simultaneously brake and blip the throttle, not brake and then blip. My size 12's would not cover the stock gap between the brake and accelerator pedals so how can the brake and throttle be worked together? Plenty of talk but no proof eg pics.
  20. Jeez, you two must have octopus legs to heel and toe a standard S30 pedal setup. I wear size 12's and could never do it.
  21. Seeing that your right foot has to simultaneously work the brake and accelerator you need to work out how you are going to position your foot to do that. With mine the accelerator is a lot closer to the brake pedal than in that first pic above, the only thing I've found is that you have to be aware and precise with foot placement to avoid double pedalling.
  22. More pics of TTI gearbox please
  23. The later 350Z with the HR engine and modified gearbox is a much better car than the earlier one.
  24. So you forget your 'sup regs are available' comment, you silly old duffer Jason Link for the Feb event might be handy for others, looks like a few organisers have realised there is a paying demand for cruisey laps around The Mountain.
  25. Bloody hell, two rotaries is a bit much. See you there Peter, make sure that the apex seals are up to it
