  1. With the door to door racing they should have a helicopter medic standing by, it so much more, err, ummm, yeah, hairy chested than just doing laps
  2. Jason, stop acting like an old fart who resents the young un's and new ways of competing. On the flaggie thing, I've waved flags, it's very necessary for the sport but it's not hard to do. And in Q anyway without AASA they would basically have to go to Warwick for the occasional event there to get any experience at all. Plus CAMS does nothing to promote grass roots motorsport in Q whereas AASA does heaps, swings and roundabouts as for which does what.
  3. I don't care if it's CAMS or AASA, it's the circuit and event that counts for me. But one thing AASA have done is give CAMS some competition, the effect of that should not be underestimated as far as benefiting grass roots motorsport, which CAMS gives no **** for anyway. As for officials, CAMS does not own them just because they trained them, not that being a flaggie requires much training. Motorsport in Q has boomed since AASA came on the scene too, something that the old school CAMS stalwarts probably don't like because their old junker cars no longer get any respect
  4. Hmmm, so CAMS do nothing but provide insurance coverage?
  5. For a good performance head I would avoid all Q sources. James Flett in Sydney as an alternative to Lurch's suggestion.
  6. My half cage with no padding passed CAMS at Phillip Island recently so that is a start but CAMS should be at least talking with State authorities with a view to avoid conflicting requirements.
  7. Is this padding requirement for any cage including a non complied half cage? Because that FIA stuff is relatively hard and not really suitable unless a helmet is worn at all times, which is impossible with a road reg car. My half cage has Q State specified body clearances, putting that stuff on would in effect bring a hard surface nearer to my head.
  8. 86 reminds me of the S30 as a decent out of the box RWD track car, keeping in mind that safety issues require a much heavier car relatively than back in the S30's day. Depending on the numbers sold new of course, it's pretty inevitable that they will become sought after as a used car some time after production ceases. So far their resale has been pretty good and my guess is it will remain that way.
  9. No worries The bloke who stores the gazebo could not go so that was the problem there and the show car numbers seem to vary a lot. If you wanted to see a heap of Zcars on show the 2013 Nationals was the place to be.
  10. Nah, 50 sausages is no good, get some nice steak instead. OK?
  11. Bread and tomato sauce, that's it
  12. So, we are going to get some specifics on the logistics for this event at some time Superorganiser Jason? Should be good, looking forward to it although Saturday would be better.
  13. For the knockers, ZCCQ is going well, static car shows are not a big priority for a lot of members for varied good reasons but good on those who do get involved in them. Don't forget that it is the ZCCQ which by itself will be financing, organising and running the datnats in 2015.
  14. Price reduced to $4500 which makes it a bargain, see MY105 ad linked here http://www.my105.com/ListingDetails/tabid/65/p/2/cid/605/id/9996/Default.aspx
  15. Sitting round drinking piss and watching and advising Lurch work seems like a great idea.
  16. BBQ sounds interesting.

To cut a long story short, that vent design completely solved a serious overheating problem. Jason is partly right but an undertray is not essential although the car has one now. Vents also help clear heat when the car stops after doing some laps. Re the offs, it wars becuz I wars puttin pressuh on dem

Neville and I usually park up near the control tower, not so far to walk for time sheets and less passing traffic. Will probably park the truck and trailer outside near the entry. Rain rain go away
  23. Looks like we need another Queenslander sprinter or two for this gig. Plenty are reading this thread, all we need is for a couple to man up
  24. The November event we are talking about Jason is run by the PIARC, it is not a histronic event. I was thinking of doing that end of year sprint event at MP but PI beckons For November blokes, I would be happy to chip in for a share garage at PI. Be prepared and it (the rain) won't happen
  25. That late November sprint looks good Gordon, should be able to make that Filled in that stuff Viking but it kept thowing up blanks no matter what I tried.
