Hi Nick, Well done. Does the fellow you sold the car to have the original wheels and hubcaps fitted I have decided to clear out a lot of my spares and have a few sets of NOS hubcaps for a 73Z. If the owner is interested they can contact me through the forum.

I agree with Gav. Even if it cost $7000.00 to bring the interior back to original you have a good car for $40K. This car is a bargain in the current market. The recent 240z that sold for $8000.00 will cost the new owner at least $100K if the car is to be restored safely and to a high standard. Unless of course the new owner is a master of all trades in the automotive industry. With the engine "not being cool" it does come from a zed. Much cooler than a swap from another manufacturer I think.

Hi Gav, Not sure if you are still looking for the paint. If anybody is in contact with Adam Fairfax (brown hornet), I gave his painter a tin of paint that was perfect colour match. Never got it back. Maybe it still exists. I have a set of NOS rear tail light panels and the back is a red oxide paint and the grey is matt with a metallic grain. I will add a photo over the weekend. When I gave the paint to Adam I asked that the painter spray a swatch card so I could let other people restoring 240's use the swatch to match. The grille, hubcaps and rear panel should be the same colour. I have attached a photo of a new grille that shoes the matt finish.

Hi Andy, Could you let me know who painted your car ?? I need some work done and these guys look like they are in Hoyle Ave. Very close to my work.

Sorry, typo. It is 103735. 103779 which is the last car on he WA register is currently under going restoration. I did have the car 2011 as I purchased it from the original owner in 1998. A few more improvements since Goulburn. Thank s for compliment, I love my zed. Only wishing I bought more when they were cheap.

If anyone wants to go to Belconnen tip in the ACT, I dumped about 6 240k's there about 27 years ago.... If I paid more than $250.00 for a coupe it was too much. I used to drive them to the tip, take out the front struts and diff and leave the car behind. I feel bit silly now. Hi All, I recently received an email alert for a 240z for sale, the car is advertised for $16,000.00 and as you can see is worth much more than the asking price. After contacting the seller by email (no phone number available) i have received many images and emails regarding the purchase of the the vehicle. As it seems to good to be true, I have researched the payment method and Amazon payments is a scam. The email below is the most recent I have received this morning:- "Hello again , As I mentioned in my previous e-mail at this moment I am in RAAF Base , NT military base, getting ready for Afghanistan, and I have the car with me.I'm in a special training program before my deployment and I am not allowed to get out of the unit or have visitors.I can ship the car to you without problems using army transport and logistic system. You will receive the car along with all the documents. As for the payment I can start a transaction through Amazon Payment.All I need is your full name and address so I can contact them and after that they will contact you to explain the entire procedure without any obligation to buy it or fees.They act as a third party and will protect both of us in this transaction.You'll make the payment in an Amazon managed trust fund!After that, I send it over ( the car will be delivered with the title, owner's manual, service records, and of course the bill of sale authorized and signed by me).You will have 7 days inspection period on it from the day you'll receive the car, you can inspect it, take it to a mechanic to check it out, ride it and then if you decided to keep it, you'll confirm to Amazon the sale. Hi Adam, Congratulations on getting closer to coming for a drive to the pub at Mt. Vic. Drive the car and then work out what you don't like. I have played around with ride height and different brands of dampers and now have a perfect combination. Everyone wants something different so drive it and see how it feels. It has been awhile since we caught up so I have attached an image of what I find pleasing, could probably drop an inch but the car became very harsh as there was bugger all travel left. This car was for sale when I did my resto, I would now be the owner of z432. Landed this car is still cheaper than a proper resto on a zed. I cannot believe nobody thinking of restoring a zed has run the numbers.

z432's suffer from the same problem all zeds have, no-one wants to pay for a good car. We all think that a good zed is worth $10K and anything over that is crazy. I know of at least 2 cars which are not on the road and owe the owners over $80K for proper rust, panel and paint.

Genuine NOS gear knobs do not have the R in red, a company in japan (Bprojects) makes these imitations using the US 4 speed knobs. They can be found on ebay but do not always have them, send them an email as they are very helpful.

Hi Andrew, I am going to go for an RB gearbox upgrade. I have rebuilt my original gearbox and it is uncomfortably noisy inside the cabin, I have used extensive dynamat and dynapad inside and still the only thing I can hear is gearbox. The conversion is around $1200.00 + the rebuild cost of the RB if needed, this should make life more comfortable. I am not sure what your end goal is so noise may not be of concern. R200 LSD with CV conversion should be strong enough for the rear. I thought that urethane bushes would be a good idea initially, but I have since changed all the rear end bushes back to NOS rubber. This improved comfort and driveability on b grade roads by 300%, the only trade off is a louder bang from the diff under hard accelaration gearchange. If every road was smooth like a race track then definitely urethane is better. Cheers, Aaron

Hi Mossy, Are these wheels leather Does anyone know the diameter of the wheels. The best thing I did with my zed was remove the 350mm momo I had on it when I first put it back on the road. Returning to the original 390mm wheel transformed the car when driving on b grade roads. Cheers, Aaron
