Why is everyone so fired up about zed prices, gone are the days where you could buy a good one for $5000.00. The people that are currently selling the white 240 and the blue 260 are free to sell these cars for whatever they want, if don't agree with their prices, so be it. You can always wait and hope the values drop and then buy. I cannot wait until the values hit 6 figures. Nearly every other sports car from the early 70's has increased in value but we all seem to want zeds to remain cheap. These are beautiful cars that do everything well, they should be expensive. We all regret not buying a dozen of them 20 years ago, mine was a one owner car when I purchased in 1997 for $3400.00 and I had to think about it buying it. Anyone have a time machine.

Just spoke to the owner of the green 240 and it has been in dry storage for 15 years. He is going to check to see if it is a matching numbers car. Also asked that he check the battery area, radiator support and spare wheel well but he believes that there is no rust in these area's. He has no interest in Datsun's and paid less than $500.00 when he bought it. He is already over the moon with the current bid. Is any body near Ballarat in the next few days that could look at this ? i am looking for a new project but cannot get to see the car in the next 6 days. Anyone ??

Hi Dave, Very nice. Stewart Wilkins has a disc rear end that we developed when I built my car, it retains the original handbrake and works extremely well. I know he has ready to bolt on kits available. Many hours (50 if I remember right) went into to making this work for engineer approvals. I haven't followed your entire thread so not sure what front brakes you are using, the matching 4 pot Nissan callipers on the front does look good The attached photos are not great but give you an idea. I am unsure of forum etiquette so let me know if attaching photos to your thread is not cool.

Just normal old jay car shrink. Been in the engine now for 5 years and is still prefect. I have seen that you can now buy heat shrink that is like a sock so you can have the ends of the wiring tags covered. Will get to redoing this one day.

Could you give your contact the part number shown in my original message as I would like to try and match the part at least. All this failing, dos anyone have a full set of NOS clear glass

They're the ones. I am looking for NOS to match the rest of the glass, I do have a few pieces of second hand I have purchased over the years but all have defects. I have tried to have some polished professionally and the result is terrible. Note: I highly recommend not having any glass polished, the glass becomes "distorted" and looks worse than having scratches. I am open to any "old school" polishing solutions. I have tried toothpaste and ladies rouge make up, neither were very successful.

Hi Gav, I will take some photo's this weekend and check the part number on the watermarks (photo in the first post is from the blue tint) too see if they are the same. If you do have contacts in the States I would be very grateful for you to contact them. Also would be interested in a horizontal dismeter hatch glass as the one I brought in from Japan was not packed well and has many marks. The 280z door glass is a different shape at the bottom, I did try to modify the 240 window regulator but not even close to fitting. Never thought about NZ, shall do some investigating to see if anyone can help. I have contacted this shop in the UK (http://www.mzr-roadsports.com/en/) but no had no reply. I agree with Gav. The days of cheap S30's are long gone. We all wish you that we bought the cars when they were $5-10K, I paid $3600 for mine in 1998 as a one owner car and had to think about it. Not that anyone will agree but I believe 6 figures for properly restored car is not far away. $45K for an original car + $50-70K for a proper restoration and you are nearly there. I know of a number of cars where the restoration costs have been more than $100K.

All the glass I found was from Japan. I am very confident that 240/260 2 seaters have the same bolting pattern. A few years ago I purchased the glass from a US 280z 2 seater and it does not work with the 240. Exactly the same shape but the holes in the bottom of the door glass are in different position.

Hi Dave, Very nice build. Are you going to cover the wiring harness tabs ?? It is an Australian delivered car but has been restored with mostly NOS parts. I could not find new clear glass at the time. I prefer the look of the blue tint and have been able to find NOS except the drivers door. Does anybody know where I might find the glass I need Warren (all z) had an NOS drivers side glass many years ago and sold it to someone in QLD, foolishly I did not buy it. 6 months later I came across all NOS glass except the the drivers. Since then I have bought every NOS part I have come across.

All 240z's have the same glass profile etc. From my understanding all Aus cars have clear glass. When the tinted glass is in the car it is very different to the clear. I will try to post an image.

Looking for an NOS or very clean unmarked drivers door glass in the US blue tint colour. Can anybody help. Happy to pay good money ($1000+) as all the glass I have is NOS except the drivers door. Same part number as the image attached even better.
