24013-E8805 main cabin wiring harness
aussie240z replied to aussie240z's topic in Electrical systems
thanks - will be checking against the one in the car so will be a little clearer hopefully. Thanks CBR Jeff for the listing pic - manual loom designation is perfect so all looking good. Now a clean up, check of continuity/connections etc and fingers crossed. Thanks all -
Hi all - haven't been on for quite along time with the zed sitting dormant in the garage. I have started back to clean up some of the prior mess areas (some of my own creation :-( ) and I was going through my spares tubs and I have a main cabin loom with the E8805 part number tag on it. I have searched various listings and found e8803 but not the 05. Was wondering whether anyone has any datsun/nissan reference on that number to identify the relevant age/model it might be out of please? The loom is in very good condition, complete with fuse block, various dash components etc so hoping it will lend itself to my 71 model. A clean, test and likely a few new plugs/connectors will make it pretty useful. Thanks in advance for any insights - and in the meantime, I will keep searching. Cheers

aussie240z replied to Dionysus's topic in Events
Was able to join up at Scarborough pub for coffee - good to catch up again. And sorry, George, didn't cut out the MX5, just thought it was a red zed that had shrunk and deformed a bit.... Was able to get a small video clip when the guys arrived, but uploader doesn't like the file for some reason. Have shared via this link https://www.dropbox.com/s/efjmw7ts8psorry/IMG_4058.MOV?dl=0 Cheers Ian -

11Th Feb Cruise - Loftus To Scarborough Via The Royal National Park
aussie240z replied to Dionysus's topic in Events
doesn't look like I will be able to make the Loftus end due to assisting my son moving house but potential to get to Scarborough pub at least. What sort of ETA do you think for that end of the run or can someone perhaps text me when not too far away? Am only 15/20 minutes further south. Cheers Ian -

Tutorial: Holden diff fitted to a 240Z
aussie240z replied to PeterAllen's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
great article and fix for the photobucket issue. Just an aside, you can do a CTRL F5 on the tab that is open if you dont want to restart the whole browser. I had about 20 tabs open and didn't want to lose all of them, so tried the standard clear cache ctrl f5 to good effect -
sure, can do. Cheers

I am 99% sure sure I still have a complete airbox (as well as round top SU's) still. I converted to triple 45 webers a fair while ago. I will grab a look and confirm but likely Sunday before I can do so. Will advise and post some pix if still there.

Not exactly "racing" but I finished up the week long Trek4Kidz charity rally on Saturday in Forbes and the zed performed brilliantly. After 6 days driving and 7 days away (Wednesday lay day), was pipped by one minute to get second overall. Around 3500kms from Nowra to Forbes via Canberra, Cobram, Mildura, Renmark, Hay and finished in Forbes. The zed came back in one piece (compared to last years roll) and only a few issues. Kangaroo strike (zed 1-roo 0) and a stone hit the fuel tank (stone 1-zed 0) - but the amazing fuel tank putty worked brilliantly. Some pix of the zed and the route. And from all of this, the group (less than 70 people) raised a bit over $220k for Starlight. Bring on 2018

thnx for the good wishes. and Peter T, this is why we do it. I was blessed with three kids who grew up without issue but have been close to friends/family with similar issues and Starlight make a difference for the time kids spend in hospitals. And Trek is an unusual one ion that 100% of what we raise actually goers to Starlight as everyone from organisers to officials are volunteers. Was involved with Camp Quality through their similar event (escarpade) but got a bit disillusioned with a good chunk of what we raised going in admin/staff costs. Absolutely not judging what they do or the outcome, as Camp Quality is an amazing help to kids as well, but prefer when the funds can get to the charity in one piece. And fingers crossed for your mates child. Never an easy illness, and more so seeing kids go through it.

BTW, we will be en route from this Sunday (20th) start at Nowra, then overnight stops (in/around) Canberra, then Cobram/Barooga, next to Mildura (lay day Wednesday) then Renmark in South Australia and on to Hay with the final day sees us getting to Forbes on Saturday 26th. if anyone is in/around the areas, say hi if you can. You should be able to see the exact route/follow map here (goes live Saturday 19th) http://www.car240.com.au/livefollowus Cheers

So after having an "incident" at the end of Trek4Kidz2016, we are finally ready to go again next weekend for trek4kidz2017 raisiing much needed funds for the Starlight Foundation. It has been a mammoth effort of weekends and late nights in between all the normal demands of work, family etc but so happy to be heading off again next weekend. See some details here car240.com.au (with live tracking from next weekend) or the main site trek4kidz.com Some pix of the then and now.

thanks all, i tried my local Repco store and waded through all the hoses they had in stock and found a couple that I felt would work. Bought a couple of brass 5/8' fittings and got it all back together no issue. I also put one of the springs on (thanks "old retired z fart" and Bunnings. The hoses were: Ford Courier 02-115 and the other was Corolla 02-0093 and the last one was Holden 02-1087. After a bit of cutting and fitting, all came good. Definitely not original but not too much on my car is now but it works for me. Appreciate the quick input all, cheers

Thanks for the quick responses. Think the non standard 5/8 hose is the option. I have the dash out at the moment so a lot easier to get in and sort. Much appreciated. Cheers

I have just found a leak in the heater hose form the block to the core and need to get a replacement pronto (am off on the trek4kidz rally on the 19th of August) and i have searched local options but can't see much at all. Listings from US ebayers and the like but lead time could be an issue. Anyone know of local source for heater hose sets or individual hoses? Appreciate any advice or of anyone has spare they want to sell? Thanks in advance of any advice at all.

Thanks, am looking forward to do it again. All my sponsors are on board again and added another one so aiming for a good result for the Starlight Foundation again. Re the zed, has been a long time happening due to work and other commitments, and still putting it together (this weekend and next to finish) but all sorted, straight,m repainted and prepped. Hopefully with a few days and late nights will be ready for the 19th scrutineering and 20th start at Nowra.

I looked to do the SB rally a while back and it is a great fundraiser and outcome - looks a lot of fun. I stayed with trek4kidz (www.trek4kidz.com) as the SB rally loses the car (or you buy it back) at the end. We are off again at the end of August for the trek week rally - Nowra to Renmark, then Renmark to Forbes and supporting Starlight Foundation. Using the zed (www.car240.com.au) and really looking forward to it. There are similar events throughout the year, so jump in to any of them, you wont regret it.

Fiberglass Panels.. Gaurds, Hatch, Do They Fit Well?
aussie240z replied to drifta1600's topic in Body work
I bought the guards and doors to re build after i had a "gentle" roll, all from Alpha. I am using lexan sliders on the doors for windows and have fitted with ali mounting insets for hinge mountings etc. I had to re jig the door latches to allow for the difference in fit but the lines etc were all good. Took some fitting on the bottom lips of the guards but all came together quite well. Am at the final fit stage and prepping for paint and, so far, all looks good. Am doing some extra reinforcement in the doors for some intrusion protection but doors sound and fit quite solidly and lines are quite good. While my zed isn't classic resto/concourse, I am quite happy with the results. The guys at Alpha were great to deal with and I was able to pick my set up when on a road trip through Vic. -
Hi All, old topic but am re opening to see if any updated suggestions. Am going to be in Japan in a couple of weeks for around 10 days, skiing in the north for a few days, then the tourist thing around Tokyo and likely south and was researching a few nissan/datsun options while over there. I have found a couple of places but if anyone has any suggestions etc., would be appreciated. Cheers Ian
