    WTB - L28 ENGINE

My old engine is for sale, $50. It's at Dimitri' place. Check out link here... http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,7693.msg73098.html#msg73098
  2. Melbourne for sure!
  3. Runs beautifully now! Also, some $ coming your way Dimitri, I haven't forgotten!
  4. New owner is Rev. Dimitri, I told him he could take anything we ripped off the new motor if he wants/needs it.
  5. **L28 has been SOLD*** I have an L28 for sale. Needs a rebuild, suspect either pistion rings and/or valves ahve had it. Burns oil. No coolant leaks. Missing intake, flywheel and dizzy. Make a cheap offer!! PM me for details on pickup etc
  6. I know you said no rust or damage, but I have one of those for cheap if all else fails.
  7. Oh man, I miss the Canberra meets! I'll be sure to try and get to one next time I'm in town.
  8. Not sure if it's ben posted or not yet, but I found this link in this month's Top Gear Aus Magazine. It's great they didn'y go with the easier/quicker cgi method, rather stripped, measured and reconstructed a full plastic 370Z.
  9. Oh man, if I was still in Canberra (and had a real job) I totally would have rebuilt it!!! Good luck with the sale!

    Head work

Ive got to test the compression, but Im pretty sure something isnt right with my valves and/or rings. Ive lost power, and I think at least one (maybe two) cylinders have lost compression, and shes burning a bit of oil. (Sorry for the lack of apostrophes, my keyboard broke!)

    Head work

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic for head work, in and around the Melbourne area? Im in Brunswick, so anywhere in a 10km radius. Im going to have to get the lot done at a mechanic, as I have no space or tools (yet) at my new place! Thanks
  13. I hear that! But thankfully I have Thursday off, so 'll be there. Can't wait, it's my first Melbourne meet since I've been here. So count me +1
  14. Sounds promising, I may as well see through my rego and hopefully by mid-year there will be a concise scheme in place.
  15. So if I was visiting Lurch for some rust issues (none yet, but expect the worst!), and I get pulled over and my following words are "I'm visiting Lurch, he's fixing my dogleg...", is this enough or do I need to have some sort of paper trail that a cop can verify? Lurch or Sulio I might contact either of you personally soon as I need to sort this out. I might come to the bbq in Feb if I have work off, I'll do my best as I haven't met the 'Mexico' crew yet!!!
  16. Hello Melbournians (or Melbournites?), I've been down in 'Mexico' for a bit over 3 months now, and my ACT rego runs out in June. As I'm living in Brunswick I'm close to everything and rarely drive me Z around. Also being a student means that $600+ rego could be better used on maintenance & servicing, so I'm thinking of Club Plates. I've read a few threads on here, and I understand that AusZCar/VicZcar is not a club that would sanction club plates by Vic Roads? If I'm correct, what would be the best way for me to get my Z on Club Plate's, to be used on the odd occasion to AusZcar BBQ's/meets and (hopefully not too often!) the mechanic/Lurch!!! Sorry if these are dumb questions, this is the first time I've had to put a restrictive rego on a car. Thanks!
  17. Awesome, thanks Dimitri
  18. In the Melbourne heatwave today, I furiously wound down the window and 'snap'... So does anyone in the Melbourne area have one (or a pair) on window handles they're willing to sell? I can do the whole ebay thing, but I'd prefer to give money to someone in the club. Thanks
  19. I never knew the vent on the right was for cooling the battery!!! Kidding! Good luck!
  20. Yes they are ZG flares, the rear ones measure 110mm in width at the widest point. Here's a couple of pics of them gaffer taped on to make it clear which ones they are.
  21. Bump. Rather sell here than on ebay, but I may have to soon!
  22. Pretty sure these are the standard ZG flares. The widest measurement on rear flare is roughly 110mm (hope that helps!)
  23. These are a set of four fibreglass flares, I bought them from Otomoto last year but have decided not to fit them. Brand new, never been used, complete with rivets and installation notes $275. Pickup in Melbourne area preferred, but can send interstate if buyer is desperate! (They're such an awkward shape to post!) Any questions, PM me!
  24. I met the previous owner of that car, he's a big kombi lover now and was helping us with parts and paint when my housemate and I were working on his kombi.
