Welcome. My vote goes to keeping it stock, not too many original zeds left these days, becoming a real rarity. If you decide to modify, best plan is to do bolt on options that can be easily reversed and keep your original parts in the shed.

Time for an update. Have now finished the front apron and the front guard is getting closer to being finished. I am happy with the way the front apron came out, it looks fantastic considering the amount of hits it had acquired in its life. Not an excessive amount of Nikki in it either. That is all the small panels done, I am now onto the big stuff. ;D

If you have the space, the best option is to keep the parts car complete so that you can use it as a reference for the one you are restoring, there is no better guide than a complete zed to copy off, has helped me numerous times. Hi, I believe this is an interior heater box from a 280ZX. You will need to check the pictures to confirm as I bought it with some 260Z stuff a while ago. I am after $25 for it. All proceeds will go directly to Datsun restoration. Cheers.

Hey mate, nice looking 2 seater. 260Z 2-seaters are my favorite given their rarity and the "big block" L26 . I agree with the others, keep all the mods bolt-on and reversible, this is what I also intend to do. As for the color choice, is yours 240 green metallic or 303 emerald green? Sticker was on top of the radiator support panel. Looks to me like it was the emerald green. My vote would be to re-spray it the original green, the emerald green especially is a stunning color and I have not seen many others this color in Australia. Just adds that extra touch of originality, and aside from that, both of these greens are very nice colors and rare on zeds. I think the green would also look good with the yellow iron cross wheels on it, green and yellow theme would be cool, but that's just me Look forward to seeing the resprayed car.

Welcome. V12 would be an awesome build but I have to agree with the others and cast my vote on keeping it original. Another option would be to buy an old L28 and take it to someone who builds group Sc engines, they will get an easy 250 HP out of it if that is what you want. However a one owner car would be too nice to do this to in my opinion... hope to see some pics of the car

Hi Alan, I missed out on the ZG headlight covers, and I would also be hesitant in using genuine ones on a track car that may get wrecked. I was therefore wondering if you knew of any suppliers who do replica ZG headlight covers? The stainless trim around the outside is not essential and would be a shame to wreck a genuine set on the track. Cheers.

John, do you know of anyone who makes a replica of the ZG headlight covers? Given the current price of originals, it must surely be viable for someone to produce them? Not sure if any of the guys in Japan do them, despite plenty of G-nose replicas. Cheers and your zed will be a masterpiece of engineering once it is finished.

I do not think we should try to exclude people. The more the merrier. If people come on to buy or sell that benefits everyone as it means someone may buy your part or offer up some hard-to-find rarity. We should be encouraging people and not trying to scare people off as it may kill the site. It is frustrating if one time posters snap up things that should probably go to members who contribute advice, financially, helping others out etc but I think the negatives from trying to exclude people would vastly outweigh the positives.
