  2. Hi guys, we went a picked her up, took off the wheels, motor and gearbox and now the rest of the car has to go. All the electrics work as we tested them. An offer can be made on the whole car or you can buy bits and pieces if you wish. There was a lot of rust in her aswell but there is still plenty of goodies left on this car aswell. here is the link off the add it has a picture http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2146.0.html call mik on 0412532038 cheers glen
  3. Welcome Zgirl, are you in the market for a 2 or 2+2?
  4. thats a shame matt you could have come over with us if you started in dromana aswell.
  5. cool will be there with a friend and his Z aswell. looking forward to it.
  6. sorry mate, they were'nt in the car when i picked it up so i cant help you. I think he just had them sitting there looking pretty thank god!!
  7. im staying with the L series, i'm only after 130-150rwkw's and i have always liked a NA motor with a big lumpy cam, just something about 'em
  8. i just put a deck in mine last weekend, First i had problems so then i swapped the 2 wires over just to see if the contsant 12V was faulty and it was. Its a easier way to diagnose things quickly with out a volt meter. i ended up running a constant 12V (yellow wire) straight from the battery.
  9. Change the wires around, the ACC wire and the constant 12V wires, swap them over.
  10. for someone else that wants to start a turbo project http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-280zx-Turbo-Exhaust-Manifold-240z-260z-L28_W0QQitemZ150226325551QQihZ005QQcategoryZ6763QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. hmmmm water in the oil, not good. Hope you have a mechanic that you really trust or maybe some Z members in your area that might be kind enough to help you out.
  12. what about getting the power that you have demitri, 155rwkw out of a carby motor. I have a ceased l28 which will hopefully be the crank bearing at best as the previous guy ran it out of oil. Anyway im going to rebuild it but i dont want fuel inj setup. What is the most you can get of a l28 with cam, ported, extractors <----(already have) and some original 240 carbs hanging off.
  13. those wheels suit the colour of that car nicely. Wouldnt mind seeing some day time ones when you get the chance.
  14. hmmmm turbo goodness, are you using factory ecu or a aftermarket one? Would be pretty straight forward if you have all the stock injectors, ecu, turbo, clutch etc etc I turbeod a car but i went with a microtech, everything can get costly then.
  15. Looking at your pictures yours is a mechanical fuel pump, which i think (dont hold me to it) works harder as the rpm's rise. So yes the fuel pressure would be stronger as the revs rise.
  16. Im no mechanic but here's an idea. You can normally tell if it is oil straight from the motor or not just by looking and when you got home it should still have been quite runny and very hot, Your fuel leak theory could be right looking at the splatter pattern on the under side of your hood. Get your finger and wipe some off and have a wiff. if its fuel it will still be fairly strong. You should be able to tell the difference between oil and fuel. Also looking at the car from front on the fan belt runs counter-clockwise which also follows the splatter pattern
  17. my mate pulled one off his car but i think he is selling it together with the wheel as a set.
  18. jesus that thing looks set straight to the race track. good to see you got her home, your probably getting some Zzzzzzz's right now haha how i make myself laugh
  19. G,day dave. My friend is wrecking a 280zx series 2 at the moment. I dont know what would want but if you want to have a look at it or i can just pm you his PH.No. and you 2 can sort it out Mick is down in the S.E. suburbs
  20. Congrats on your 240 not that i have been in a 240 but i think they didnt have hazard lights and to reset the trip on my 260 you wind the dial clockwise over to zero. Some one in the know on here will set you straight.
  21. my album is up and running in the gallery section so now i will be able to add some pictures of the interior. My friend has a 74 cream 2+2 that is very very clean. He is just about to put simmons on his as well so i will grab some pictures first with the original wheels on it. We are hoping to catch up with some of you at the phillip island run.
  22. Took the photos mid way up arthurseat, thats in dromana. you may have heard of the arthurseat chair lift before on the mornington peninusla. Im waiting to see some Z's in the flesh before i decide on the chrome around the window, i agree about the 2+2 rocking, last weekend i got to take my family to the historicals at phillip island in a vintage sports coupe. Its good to enjoy the car as a family. My girls love it and no one gets left out.
  23. my old one was worn off aswell, i dont mind. Im intersted if you want to part with one?
  24. +++ I think your pricing is fair, but on a few counts, you would have to try and get that interior back to original with out paying to much $$$, That interior looks well suited to a pimp. It may attract some and turn others away. It would turn me away but thats just me. You would want to try and fix second gear aswell. If that was all done, painted and drove nicely you could try for $6000 maybe $7000 if it ran sweet. --- If the car doesnt drive nicely, and looks a bit dodge then i would say $3000-$4000. I went up to Zfactory today, he has a straight 2+2 with little rust, paint was gone, interior was messy and it had flat carbs. It started but has been sitting for a long time. Was an auto aswell He wanted $2000 for that. so going off the Zfactory car today i think yours is worth $3000 in its current condition right now maybe $4000 with RWC.
