  1. Thanks Chris, I may have to find an interim solution! - In the mean time if anyone at least has some 240z rails I might have aline on some seats...anyone? Cheers, Rev
  2. Great looking car and great attitude! This will at least be an investment unlike buying a later model vehicle! You will have heaps of fun, frustration and innovation as you work your way through this resto - I'm sure the forum will be a great support to you as you begin your Zed adventure. Cheers, Rev
  3. Is there any difference between the 240/260Z seats, I know there are rail differences but are the holes in the seat frames the same to accommodate the different rails? also still looking! thanks, Rev.
  4. Thanks guys, I'm excited to actually get it down here to Melbourne! If anyone can help me out with some seats and rails I would appreciate it. I want to get it on the road ASAP. Cheers, Rev
  5. Here's a link to when I did my seats Gav. hope it may help.
  6. still looking...anyone?
  7. Hey Gav - it's tedious but pretty simple - I've done 3 sets of seats now and they all came up excellent. I'll try and dig through my build thread as I did the whole clark rubber rebuild myself. I remember that after Id cur and glued and crafted some new foam I then laid it over with a 3ml high density foam. If you notice, often from the factory, when you pull the back cover off there was plastic around the foam of the headpiece this is simply to assist in getting the cover on so that it doesn't bunch up. I wrapped that part in glad wrap and when I pulled the new skin down tight the head piece of the seat slipped into place firmly. I'll post when I find my build. Rev
  8. Thanks Gav - Saw those, hoping to find a little cheaper being that I need black upholstery, so would need to recover - still an option if there's nothing else. Thanks for recommending.
  9. Hey guys Recently purchased a new project and need seats and rails for a 1970 240z - not to fussy about condition however if someone has a great pair in black would be the best deal. Let me know if you can help me out. Thanks in advance. Rev.
  10. is it a big goat? will it fit in my smoker?
  11. A red sleigh indeed!
  12. Well as many of you know I've been looking to jump back into a Zed for awhile, however my budget has been somewhat smaller these days. Well, today was my day! Just closed the deal on a 1970 240z (#287) , matching numbers with original books, 2 owner rust free Canberra car. Huge shout out to Chris240 for all of his effort in helping to secure this ride, not only did he check it over for me but went the extra mile and helped with transport and liaising on my behalf, you're a champ Chris. Not sure what the plans are yet, but being such an original matching numbers car it won't have flares! Stay tuned for build updates! Cheers, Rev
  13. Bless ya Lurchos - At least your consistant! Hope to catch up for a beer in the New Year!
  14. Have an awesome Christmas guys - hope to join you back in a Zed...REAL SOON Remember to spend some great time with your family, plenty of food, a few drinks and an opportunity to remember that God showed his love for each of us through the birth of Jesus (I could have given you a sermon, but you can read it for yourself in Luke Chapter 2!) cheers, Rev
  15. Hey Sam, Welcome, you will find lots of great advice on the forum - Check out the sticky notes section and search function as it contains a lot of common answers to questions. Have a great Christmas! Rev.
  16. My EBay finish price shows it went for $7900?? Not sure why mine shows different?
  17. Thanks Funnies, I feel lazy now...i should have googled it, appreciate you taking the time. cheers, Rev
  18. Hi guys, Can anyone give me the length and width of a 2 seater - thanks in advance Rev.
  19. Thanks guys, Have a great Christmas - Only too happy to share what we have! Christmas lunch should always be a fun time and hate the thought of someone 'just getting by' - invitation is still open to anyone who wants to join us! Rev
  20. Hey guys Thought I'd drop it out there, if you don't have any family locally (Victoria) or you don't have plans for Christmas lunch, our home is open! We're going to have plenty of food and beer, so let me know - we'd love to 'adopt' you as part of our family for the day! bless ya Rev.
  21. Hey guys - I know this is 'off topic' as it gets - but thought i'd put it out there. As many of you guys know I've probably spent the best part of the last 20 years as 'Rev', serving others and trying to make their world a little more hopeful. This has meant me having to live between Australia and the USA. It's my heart to serve others but I feel that I need to be available to my family here in Victoria that potentially means that after 23 years I'm looking to change vocation. That doesn't mean that It will change me being available to help and support anyone but it does mean that 'work' is going to look a bit different. So, I've been 'self-supported' for the last 6 months but my 'long service leave savings' is almost at an end. so I'm looking for work. Hopefully some of my skills are transferrable but if you know of anyone in Vic who could use me please let me know. Here's some of the skills that I hope may be able to be of benefit to someone: Performance and organisational evaluation and improvement, Team building and performance management, Curriculum development and design, Development of policies and procedures, Recruitment and training, Community and volunteer engagement, Grant writing, reporting and submissions, development of CRM strategies, management and financial accountability... or cleaning toilets...or fixing Zed's - please let me know! Blessings, Rev
  22. Thanks Mossy - I'll give him a call Monday
  23. Hi guys, Think I've found a project! Only problem is I don't have a vehicle with a towbar - thoughts: Does anybody have a car and car trailer that could assist with pickup? Car is located 30 minutes from Warragul and needs to come to blackburn. Will pay fuel, food and $100 alternatively anyone have experience of what it would cost to get a towing company to bring it? Thanks Rev.
  24. My opinion if you never want to see rust again is use POR-15 http://www.por15.com cheers, Rev
  25. OK - The Zed was Australian delivered previously registered in South Australia. I called VicRoads yesterday and had a chat with their Senior Registration Officer - he said there will not be a problem, only sticking point is that it has had an engine change which will require a Stat Dec from police? why, he couldn't tell me. I don't think the police would know if it was meant to be an L26 or L28? Anyhow whilst there will be some issue, probably not insurmountable. Thank you to all for your contribution. Rev
