  1. Is this that new brand from Korea??
  2. This is the parts list I got from him if you decide to get them seperately and just buy the adaptor kit from him, but I don't know if this is US$ or NZ$, either way you can see it is very cheap even when you compare it to the Hilux brake set up. Also with the Wilwood Mechanical Spot Caliper this would easily solve the park brake issue, I emailed the guys these pics about this and a bracket for it, just waiting for a response. Simply search for pads that will suit you best. Use "superlite pads" as a key word. Thanks ! With the pads though Wilwoods are a common replacement on Mustangs and even early Holdens and Fords here in Oz so I dare say there would be pads available locally and the calipers would no doubt be the same so would be easy enough to find top range performane pads.
  3. Hey Evan where did you see the kit with the operational park brake??
  4. As far as I know the calipers are the same, I said ALMOST half the price PMSL, thats when you take into account shipping and duties as well as exchange rates being better from NZ rather than the US. Also the handbrake issue I don't think it does, well it doesn't specify anything on the linked page and no they are not cheaper calipers they are the same from what I can see. It's just that as I say by the time you convert the A$ to US$ then add shipping costs it is almost twice what we could get these for from NZ. Here is the link to the page http://www.autobrakeworks.com/datsun.htm , you will see that you can buy the kits seperately and then source your own calipers and disks but I do think this is outstanding value for money when you also consider the time saved in sourcing everything yourself. The only thing left is working out shipping and any duties involved which I didn't discuss with him as I guess he assumes I will be taking care of it all so I will be looking into that this week, but if anyone has dealt with any agencies that they could recomend this would also be helpful. He does offer to help in assisting to source the rotors and calipers seperately and after working it out it actually works out cheaper again, but this is without any duties or shipping, I will ask him if he knows how much difference there would be including shipping form the US. As I say guys post links in the other Z forums that you are members of or at least email the links to members their to post up if you aren't members, the more we can get on board the more we can negotiate on the price, it's good now but I think we could do a bit better. Cheers Stef
  5. Ok guys I have been emailing Juan at Auto Brake Works today to strike up a deal on a group buy of the hub adaptors and Wilwood brake package. We will need a minimum of 10 in order to get the special rate (although I think we could get a little more off if we get more people), at this point I will say that the price is a hell of alot better than the Arizona Z Car US$1600/A$1950+shipping. In fact it is almost half that price, so I don't think you could find better value for money in a proper bolt up and drive away brake kit available on the market today for the Z cars. I will ask you to post your interest at this point and when we have the numbers I will post the price at which point I will then be asking for further confirmation of your intentions to purchase these brake kits. Please post links to all of the Z forums around the country as this will only help to increase the number of interested parties and get the ball rolling alot quicker. Cheers Stef
  6. Ok I have been emailing Juan at Auto Brake Works and have come up with a deal for a group buy, I will start another thread and post a link to it in this one so as not to go off topic any further. Here is the link http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,1511.msg10842.html#msg10842
  7. PMSL I'm talking about the brakes dude hahaha
  8. And with the A$ being stornger then the NZ$ this looks like a viable option for us here as well. Did I hear someone say group buy??
  9. So how would a 4 pot r33 set up go then?? would it bolt straight up to the front at least?? the rear I can play with at a later date. cheers Stef
  10. http://videos.streetfire.net/search/240z/0/da3bbac9-e6fc-4d0b-a958-982a0080ac48.htm Some of you may have seen this before it seems the video has been around for a couple of yeas now, thought it might get some juices flowing all the same
  11. I may be very interested in the wheels, let me know how you go. Cheers Stef
  12. I wouldn't think that spare parts would carry any duties would they?? Anyway let us know how you go with it as I am very tempted and I rekn there may be a few others that are just sitting in the shadows waiting to pounce LOL
  13. It's a long shot I know but could it be at all possible that maybe something off of a Silvia or 180sx might be converted to fit, if not one of them I'm sure there must be something that would be an easy/easier conversion. edit: the arizona z car ones are US$1600 for the kit which does both front and rear with the Ozzi dollar as strong as it is that makes it A$1850, but I rekn if we tried for a group buy we may get it down much more. Here is the link http://www.arizonazcar.com/coil.html
  14. Actually I found a guy on here that can do 3 core for around $400 so if you're happy to spend $1K you can buy 2, one for you and one for me, and save $200, see I'm saving you money He's going to try to get some pics this weekend to post up on here.
  15. This is what I'm aiming for with the engine bay, how much for a aluminium radiator??
  16. Well I just spoke to the guys at Stuckeys and the wheels are a Compomotive and come in at just over $1000................each Hey zedevan, who is this guy in Perth, do you have any contact details for them?? edit: just got a number for a guy in Melbourne and spoke to him a few minutes ago, he is going to find out some details and get back to me later this arvo, I'll let you guys know how it goes.
  17. ok don't know what they're called yet but found a pic at Stuckeys website, I should have gone to them first LOL, check it out here....... http://www.stuckey.com.au/wheels_details.aspx
  18. Mate pricing speculation is a hard game at the best of times, it all depends on the Japanese market for these cars, the more collectible they become their the more valuable they become everywhere else. The Australian and US muscle car price surge has certainly helped it long making most cars built in the late 60's and early mid 70's more collectible and therefore much more valuable. However this trend can not be sustained forever and there must be a peak before too long, prices can only go so far before they will inevitably drop like a sack of shyte, this is when things will really get interesting with those that bought at the high end. The Australian and US markets will follow suit depending on how much the Japs want them back and the lengths to which they would go to get them including the prices they would be willing to pay. A well restored example now you would see in the $20+ easily mid, but in the end it all comes down to one thing, it sells for what the market is willing to pay. You could rebuild a concourse 240 or 260 and then ask $50K for it, doesn't mean you will get it unless it is something extremely rare or special, it all depends on the market and its willingness to buy. On that note some even see the 260 as being slightly more valuable in Oz in particular as we didn't get as many as the 240, but again it all comes down to the man with the money and how much of it he is willing to part with. Don't buy a car just to make some money, buy it to enjoy it, if you make a dollar in the end that's just a bonus. Good luck with your hunt. Cheers Stef
  19. Ye had a look at the SSR site and nothing like them that I could find, to be honest they look very much like an 80's BBS racing wheel, but hopefully find out soon enough.
  20. Ye just had a look at the Chicane actually and no it's not the same, the ones on the car in the pic look kind of like simmons V4/V5 wheels, another nice one though if the budget extended would be the Simmons OM wheel. Still some time till I need them so I may even go for the superlites for now as they are cheap enough and will suffice till a decision is made. Might head down to Steves wheels tomorrow though as they usually have a lot of good second hand stock so might find something their to suit both taste and budget LOL.
  21. Ye that weekend is the plan at the minute, have you got all the details up yet?? Oh ye and I forgot to mention, it has an electric glass sunroof you can just make it out in the pic LOL, I know what alot of you are saying but it's not a pop up so it can stay for now LOL.
  22. Well I've been hanging around here for quite some time, some of you I have met and others am still to meet. I've known Sulio for a few years now, from the cafeteria vending machine days to be exact ( ask Sulio LOL). Anyway a few years ago he goes out and buys a Zed, hadn't seen him for a while but when I did he was raving on about this car and how I should go out and get one myself, just like that go and get one to make him happy LOL. I told him how many years ago at Carlins auctions in the city I was looking at a sky blue one that was pretty decent kinda nick with a factory fitted wind back sunroof but didn't get it coz I wanted "something newer" LOL. Mind you before Sulio had gotten his Zed, well before, I actually owned a 240K coupe, this car was a pretty sweet ride, BMW lagoon green color, retrimmed (homestyle) velour seats, auto, 12"subwoofer in the shelf and a cheap head unit as well as a honed and basic rebuild L24 with a minor head shave. The car went pretty well for what it was and it surprised alot of people, not the quickest off the line but once it went it went well. Alas I ended up giving to my borther coz I owed him some money and he sold it to some 16 yr old kid for about $750 I think it was, kid got a bargain with how much had been spent on it, shit happens I guess LOL. Now fast forward to the 26th of last month, I was having a look online as I often did for something that might be worth having a look at, mind you I have had a look at a few that might have been "worth a look", dissapointed with pretty much all of them. So here I am having a look when low and behold I see a picture containing a triple carb set up with filters as red as the car itself, a bit dirty but screaming for attention. I have a look at the time and it's just gone passed 9pm, I thought I don't like calling people after 9 unless they know I am, but then I thought "if I don't someone else will". So I jumped on the phone and got an answer, seemed like a nice enough bloke and when I asked him where the car was located it was only 25 minutes away from where I was, we set a time to meet the following evening. Well the next day came and pretty much went and I wasn't really expecting much from the car to be honest, I almost couldn't make it out but managed to in the end, so I made my way to the place for a look. When I got their I noticed the car was nowhere to be seen and he told me it was in the shed so we hopped in his 4bi and drove out to the shed (he was on 25 acres) to have a look. When we got to the shed I hopped out of his pickup, still not really expecting much to be honest, and he went to the shed door and pulled it back, well it kinda looked better than I thought. Anyway I thought, lets have a close up, went in started to look around it, looking for the obvious rust spotswhich were non existant, I was stunned to say the least. Well their is some rust underneath that has eaten right through but its about 5 square centimetres in size so very easy fix and the sills had been repaired at the same time it had been resprayed, not quite concourse but a good job all the same. As well their are a couple of holes in the tyre well which is easy enough to fix so wasn't too fussed, the rails are near perfect apart from a couple of minor dings and the floor is pretty good except for the bit of rust and some bashing but will soon fix that too. The engine is an L28 which is basically stock from what I was told but the carbies are being wasted I think on this set up so the plan is to do some minor head work and throw a nice cam in. The electronic ignition was retained which was a good thing I suppose, although I'm sure you will tell me if it's not LOL, 5 speed and not sure what diff. Haven't as yet driven it really apart from onto the back of my truck to and from a couple of shops, one of which is where she'll be resting while I get her ready for a roadie and reg. Did the leads ,plugs, rotor as well as a new GT40 coil today, seems to run a little better but I think the cap is split as it seems to be grounding and I can hear atick from around the dizzy, but we'll look at that tomorrow sometime. Also a question on the distributor caps, are there any better than the others or are they pretty much all the same?? I ask as sometimes the fit isn't quite up to spec and they don't quite run right with these caps. Went and picked up the last of the spare bits and pieces he had lying around the place this afternoon and will sort through it all tomorrow, whatever I don't need I will post here in the for sale section. Plans are the basics I suppose, flares, big wheels, as I said some minor engine mods and tidy it up really. It's actually a lot cleaner than I expected to be honest so shouldn't take much although knowing me I will at some point strip it and rebuild the bloody thing hahaha Don't have any pics at the moment apart from the ones from the ad so I might put them up for the time being, as well I have added a pic of what it should look like with any luck in a few weeks LOL, just need to find those wheels.
  23. I'd certainly be keen, but what kind of licence do you need to compete?? ye details please
  24. Those wheel arches are a hell of a lot bigger than what they ended up being, I actually like the bigger arches almost gives it a Maseratti look with the side grille in the guard as well.
