  1. Just entered for this event, was thinking of doing the Vic Super Sprint at Sandown on the 10th of June but decided this would be more fun with all the Zeds around! See you all there.
  2. A few more pics of the Zed here.. http://www.wrx.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=74220&p=826565#p826565
  3. The car has better traction off the corners now and I can use full throttle earlier. One of the biggest differences are out of the first corner and the short straight after Dandenong Rd corner, through the slight bend I used to have wheel spin through the bend, now none. Also along the main straight over the bumps the revs would flare up, now nothing. Wider rubber would help, but with the rims I've got (17 x 8.5) the 245-40 are as wide I can go without chopping up the body and I am not prepared to do that.
  4. In the past the car has had good low speed balance but the faster I went the more it over steered, this was most evident at Phillip Island. The front diffuser seemed to be really effective at higher speeds so I decided to see what a proper wing would do, the wing is a copy of a Commodore VP V8 supercar. Guys at Alfa Fibreglass made it with the mounts where I wanted them, Chris Woods made the mounting hardware to my design. Shots of the car are all as I am coming onto the main straight and accelerating hard, so I'd say the squat was due to that, plus I run some big springs. The only corner at Sandown where the car developed some mild understeer was over the back straight, my slowest speed was just under 150kph which is about 7kph faster than ever before. I am looking forward to going to PI to see what a difference it will make there. Hope that answers all your questions, happy to answer any more. cheers, Sinisha
  5. Hi Steve, Thanks for the complements, I'd like to see you at Sandown again with your nice new exhaust! I had a bit of a scare yesterday after the first run, an official came up to me and said my car was too loud, I was a bit thrown back by this. Whilst I was trying to figure out how this could be and what I could do about it he came back and said "sorry wrong car, it was another red car with a big spoiler on the back" Just to top it off, at the end of the day another official came over and said in his opinion my rear wing is illegal!! Anyway, here is a better pic of the wing. Cheers, Sinisha
  6. Well, had a good day at Sandown, did a PB 1:19.0 and FTD which was a surprise. The wing was very effective, better corner speed more grip out of corners. Bad news, GoPro camera didn't work so no footage. cheers, Sinisha
  7. Will have the camera on board, hopefully some good lap times to show. Apologies for the late announcement but wasn't sure if everything would be ready in time.
  8. Yes I gotta say it looks a bit big But in real life it's not so bad, really!!
  9. Here are some pics of the new wing, this is the first attempt with mounting height, will lower it a bit after Sandown. Ran out of time to get the support blades right, looks a tad bigger in the pics compared to real life (looks like I have gone a bit "time attack" on the Zed) cheers, Sinisha
  10. Hello all, I will be doing the WRX club sprint tomorrow, is anyone else attending? If you want to come and say hello I will be in garage 24. I have gone and put a wing on the back of my car, (pics are in another post on aero bits) so am interested in seeing what difference it makes. cheers, Sinisha
  11. Some more bits for sale, all are in good condition. Everything in picture for $75. P.M. me if interested. cheers, Sinisha
  12. The clutch suits a R32 GTR (push type), 2800 pound clamping force, was not slippping when I took it out, at the time engine had 320rwkW, the flywheel was supplied by Nizpro it is steel standard weight. $100 the lot.
  13. I'm in, will be trying out my new in cabin adjustable dual master cylinder brake setup.
  14. You know it's funny this topic should crops up at this time as I am looking into fitting a wing on the back of my car also. I gave contacted a wing manufacturer in the states called APR, still waiting on a reply. Also spoke to Alfa Fibreglass as they make a copy of a Porsche GT cup wing and the VP Commodore V8 supercar wing. Not sure which way to go as this time, so any ideas welcome. cheers, Sinisha
  15. Here's my RB26 built by the guys at Racepace Motorsport, Garrett -7 turbos, standard cams with adjustable cam gears, Autronic ECU and CDI running 18psi boost on 98 octane fuel with more to come if I choose to chase it. Gearing on chart is 30Kph/1000rpm so run stopped at 7500rpm. Engine built for circuit racing, super response broad flat torque curve. cheers, Sinisha
  16. After a finned R200 diff cover similar to the 300ZX or Q45 2 bolt type. If you have one please PM me. cheers, Sinisha
  17. Here's one I prepared earlier... http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,9059.msg86771.html#msg86771 Carbon fibre for an Evo 7 I believe, Ebay $280. Had to cut a little bit off to clear my exhaust. Haven't done any back to back testing to measure effectiveness, but I think it has given me some more high speed grip.
  18. OK, some info, quality of parts is very good, normally the kit is supplied with Girling master cylinders but I did some preliminary measurements and thought that things would be a bit tight. I chose the Tilton 75 series master cylinders because the are a compact design, this combination will fit easily. This is the company that makes them. http://www.compbrake.co.uk/Bias-Pedal-Boxes/Servo-replacement/UNIVERSAL-ADJ-BIAS-PEDAL-BOX/prod_996.html I didn't buy the parts directly from them as I wasn't happy with their customer service, parts were purchased from these guys. http://www.pro-tecmotorsport.com/ The bits I purchased from Pro-tec are, adjustable bias pedal box with no master cylinders, in car adjuster and an adjustable rod with a clevis at both ends, cost including postage 204 pound sterling. Master cylinders were purchased from Jegs US @ $89 ea. shared freight with a mate who was buying some parts for his XW resto project. Local price is $209 ea.!!! Plan is to get the brakes done before Feb next year, so I will be starting soon. I can post some pictures as I progress if your interested. Hope that is of some help. Sinisha
  19. Hi all, Thought some of you might be interested in this setup I will be installing on my zed. Reason for going down this road is I am finding my brakes lacking some consistency the faster I go. The adjustable bias setup is from an English company called Compbrake, using dual Tilton master cylinders. It bolts up to the firewall in the engine bay using the standard brake pedal. cheers, Sinisha
  20. Hi John, I was there till about 4pm, the car was in the main car park just behind the garages about half way down. cheers, Sinisha
  21. Hey Peter, I don't feel bad... I feeeel goood da na na na na !!!!
  22. Well, had a reasonable day at Sandown, only got 2 runs, first run was after lunch and was lined up for the third run and it started to drizzle so I called it a day. In the driver training group there were 2 crashes in the morning which really slowed things down, and a few breakdowns during the day which didn't help either. So, managed a PB, 1:19.48 with a theoretical best of 1:19.18 which is all the best sector times combined. With a bit more consistency I can see a low 19 possible. Was beaten on the day by a Supra that Peter Mc has something to so with, he did a 1:17.4 (a very fast time!) cheers, Sinisha
  23. Hi Ash, $180 if you enter before the 28th, and $200 after.
  24. Hello all, I'm doing the Cupday sprint at Sandown with the FFCC is anyone else going? cheers, Sinisha
