The Ebay Thread #2 - Post Ebay Parts Here!
Vindicare replied to XRQTR's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
There is a picture of a REAL one in the thread quoted below, look closely and you will see the differences. The one you posted has red stitching, it's moulded too thick and coverers more of the spokes. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,658.210.html And FYI the real ones aren't real leather either. -

buyer beware with that steering wheel, if you look close it will tell you that it is a fake. -
Sorry guys but please look at the date, most of this stuff is now being used and some of it sold. however, it has been a whole year since the thread was opened. Thanks Aaron (mods it can be locked or deleted, which ever your prefer)

LSD Diff options...What can we use in our Zeds..
Vindicare replied to Mr240z's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
straight after the run in and then at 1k like it says in the manual. The first change was scary, it was basically metallic oil, but the second change was very clean, and when I drained it to send to scando I couldn't see any metal at all. I also only used their oil, as I bought 2 tins when I purchased the diff. If you heard what it was like when it was first installed you could well claim that it doesn't make any noise after the break in, it sounds completely different after the break in procedure was finished. In newer cars I think it would be quieter, but lets face it, we nearly sit on the differential, we're bound to notice more noise, however, it is a race orientated LSD and from what i've read most clutch type LSD's make a lot of racket. We weren't doing anything crazy in the car park, just driving figure 8s, your not meant to lock it up, just work the plates in, so there wasn't any smoke or anything. -
LSD Diff options...What can we use in our Zeds..
Vindicare replied to Mr240z's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
Yeah noisy bugger, but works very well, im considering getting another in 1.5 format, life without LSD is mediocre, but I think I'm going to give a OBX a go first, see how that fares.(ps its not noisy when your hard on the gas pedal and drifting around corners , like it was designed for ) And FYI, the break in procedure is very tiring 8888888888888888888888888 for half an hour, that's a lot of 8's with no power steering. You think it is bad now, should of heard it when it was being broken in, 30mins of cringe, horrible metal sounds. Was good fun though, I'm sure it looked weird at 8pm in a shopping center car park . I wish it was adjustable, I think with a little less preload it would have been okay, but I couldn't get an answer from anyone as to the adjustability and when I search I only came up with a couple of no's. Apparently the Quaiffe is adjustable, but for 2k for the centre I'll pass. Next question, can a stock item be made to last and still retain good engagement? I really dislike the noises from my rear end.(dumdum....tis). Hey NZer, haave you used those balltec ones before, how are they in the noise department and engagement, noisy like the other options? Also don't have a LD28 intake I could buy off yah?(sorry for hijack) Aaron -
Is this going to be a proven design? Tested? Come with ARP hardware? Spool imports sell forged rods for the L28 if anyone doesn't know, another option which is local? think they are about $800 though.

these arn't the one which were on ebay like last year are they? Apparently they were designed terribly and didn't work. search hybridz Just thought I'd check frank280zx used them I think

yeah if you give him measurements

Hey guys Model: 240z(currently installed with a R200 diff) Location: Perth Item Condition: Good Price and Payment Conditions: $900ono+ postage Extra Info: I'm looking to upgrade from these CV's to Datrat ones. So these are up for sale. They are currently on the car so I would like to have the datrats ones in my hand before removing and posting(could be upto 5 more weeks). They have done about 10000km since installation without any drama's. One adapter has some scoring on the circumference from when i dropping the axle and pushed the car into the garage(ran out of time while installing them) and one hub scratched it up. Oh, and I've only got 148rwhp, so they havent suffered lots of power, never used for motorsport either, just daily driving. Pictures: Contact Details: PM me Aaron

CV Joint Upgrade Kit for Zcar
Vindicare replied to gav240z's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
I have these on my car, they look very nice. My only gripe is that the bolts that which attatch them to the hubs are not captive so the whole axle basically has to come out if you discover a loose bolt. Also they have quite a large backlash which means they clunk a bit. But other then that, they are great. Pictures arn't very good but atleast you can see them installed. -
I believe most of the time self canceling not working is a product of the tab being missing or broken off the back of the steering wheel. Normally aftermarket wheels dont work. My 1973 240z self cancels with a stock steering wheel.

so these cross over to r33 4 pot brake calipers? Does it require a different hub/disk?

Let me know if the sump/pickup and mount dont sell. Thanks Aaron

Im just about to finish my rb25det gearbox install behind a l24et. I used Austins adapter and found myself a z32 bell housing. Martin has finished installing it for me, it now just needs a couple of tweaks and a tail shaft to finish up. It's definitely not a cheap install. It has run me close to 4k so far.

What you would like your Z to look like?
Vindicare replied to Toecutter's topic in General Discussions
The price went up on the shipping for those wheel to Australia. I have to say I really like that special steering wheel. If going back to something stock looking, that definitely would entice me. Even for that price. Let be honest, $400 hot zed wheel or dodgy momo wheel.(never been a fan of mom/nardi etc wheels, to, well, gay.) -
I ask how much he wants, he replied, had an offer of 8.5k, would take 10k in heart beat.

were to buy a suspension bush kit for a 240z
Vindicare replied to mrp69's topic in General Discussions
i bought mine from the US, (bush kit) With the dollar as it is, why not? Think I paid AU$250 for major poly kit shipped -
Whoops, forgot to also mention. If all this sells I'll also need to get rid of my R33 gearbox, with Z32 bell, machined with Austin hokes adaptor. Gearbox was taken appart and inspected by my mechanic. Dont enquire for anything under 2k. It is a very expensive swap.
