haha yeah the first one needs fluffy dice and the second one needs neons :S i know what he is after, you know when u go to a car show and there is a nice old torana(?) or something that is a green colour with a snow white interior? it does look good but i just dont know if it is do-able in a zed. ill keep looking, desiging and finding pics on the web but at the moment i cant get the logisitics of it (ie what parts are black and what parts are white) zedevan: i was looking through hybrid last night and i think i found some more pics of that seude dash car.... if i did ill post em when i get home tonight

ive often thought of a white interior but trying to get everything in the datsun to loook good with the white can be hard to figure out... like do you make a custom centere console or keep it black? then tehres the seats black or white and the carpet. then you have to consider door trims and the vinyl in the rear and how this is all going to look in contrast with each other this one looks a bit ricey but if you had different gauges and sterring wheel it would prob be alright this ones more cream but meh... hey zedevan... do you remember where u got those pics from? i'd like to see the progress on that car or any other pics. the tailights/guards and colour look familar. i think ive got photos somewhere on my comp. way too many zed photos to go through :S

i was thinking about this recently aswell... what exactly did you cut and weld toecutter? I was thinking about cutting the whole panel (the piece behind the black plastic) and welding that into the 260z. Is it a bit more involved or is that about it?

i'm guessing he didn't mention it because he said he only learnt that it had electronic ignition last night? my car has electronic ignition and the tach works fine (but i bought it this way so im not sure what nigel has done to make it work ) i remember seeing instructions on www.zcar.com on how to wire up the tach with early z cars and electronic ignition. i have the link saved somewhere at home but it could take a while to find. also there is alot of info in the zcar.com forums about tachs so it might be a lil hard to find but make sure you search first cause they hate it when they get the same q's asked over there!!

now that i think of it maybe bundaberg was just the closest place to gladstone to get chroming done. maybe the straight and rechrome for $600 for the bumpers was actually from brisbane. my dad will probably remember, ill ask next time i talk to him btw was the local guy alright for just normal rechroming of other parts or should we steer clear all together? cause i do remember we were gonna send something to bundy to get chromed :S

im guessing your down around melbourne, but up here in queensland theres a place in bundaberg (from memory) that does a good job. 3 or 4 years ago it was gonna cost about $600 to have the front and rears rechromed and straightened. thought i'd just give you an idea for the price

yeah im happy to take a few photos or even do a full photo shoot with multiple locations. I can print any size easily up to 30x96 inches which is bloody huge! I can supply jsut the print or have them mounted and framed aswell. I can also design custom displays for car shows etc which you can get framed or I can work out other unique ways to display them. And there are also a number of different mediums to print to including canvas, glass and aluminium however these are getting a bit up there on the money sides of things. This is a quick one I did up and put in a cheap frame for the classic japanese show and shine last year... Yeah the engine is for nigels car. My project car is gona be a daily driver and I would hate to pay for fuel for that engine

cheers van, thats awesome. i swear vicZcar is the friendliest forum (especially for Z sites) in the world as for the engine I'm goin for a 3.1 litre stroker with triple 44mm webbers using ka24e 89mm forged pistons, the diesel maxima crankshaft obviously, 240z rods (the 9mm ones), a moderate camshaft (say around stage 2 or 3 according to motorsport autos specs) and a new header. Then theres all the machine work including balance and blueprinting pretty much everything, the overbore and port and polish etc. AND then... all the small stuff like turbo oil pump, coil, electric fan and water pump and all the gaskets and bearings etc. After all that I'm getting all the shiny stuff. Chromed and polished parts wherever they can go All up I'm allowing about $8000 and I already have the webbers and electric fuel pump (not much i know but its a start!). hahaha yeah the original photo has an overall "blue" tone. You can see it in the whites and the road and the grass which means that it shouldn't be an accurate interpretation of the real colour anyway? Just got this lil fella today. It's a bit modern and i'm still undecided on whether or not it suits the car...

For sale Turbo Valve Cover with original wrinkle finish in good condition. The lettering could do with a polish but overall this cover looks great. The wrinkle finish looks very tidy. not sure if it is the same guy but there is a fella just outa brisbane towards ipswich who is basically a small z wrecker. A little bit expensive but if u need something urgent its kinda handy. I got a 280zx gearbox and the parts for an auto to manual conversion a few years back. He had a couple of sheds full of panels, wheels radiators etc. And a few cars/bodies around the yard. He doesn't seem to have anything to do with the club up here though, you would think that would be a handy contact? i think he usually advertises through the trading post.

"lookings like a Mazda 3 with a bonnet scoop " haha exactly thats wat i dont get about these cars (being wrx's and skylines) sure they perform well or have monsterous power but they just have no style, they look like every other car out there. Give me an rx8, a z5 or a car made before 1980 I am still impressed by the performance of the subies though, they're in a league of their own and are relatively cheap for what you get. I always say the z's are the wrx's of the 70's.
